I'm using my data plan for all my phones. I have 6 phones on an unlimited plan. I have the head unit setup to push most of the stuff to the screen. Weather alerts, texts, emails. I pay 2.99 a month for the service.

Confirmed, the PX5 update wiped my unit and I had to reinstall a couple of APKs and run through the setup again. I sold my PX5 unit to another member and put in a PX6 unit.

Were you able to sign into Google after the update with the PX5? I can't and am having freeze-ups.

I did not have any issues. You might need to reflash.

There's a new firmware for April. Funny because I just downloaded the March one. I hope the short time between the two means things are fixed. The March version is complete garbage. I'll post back when I know.

Does anyone use custom ROMs with the px6? Any other way of getting root access?

Welp. This just made things worse. Trying with the 04/20 update caught the unit in an updating loop. I did a complete wipe and reset. This brings me back to the 03/20 update and it's still fucked. And it won't let me load an older version. This is pretty awesome.

If you are looking for ROMs start over at XDA Developer site. Tons of custom roms that resolve a lot of issues

I started another thread on this issue. But, I was wondering if someone else has seen the problem that is watching this thread

"Apple Iphone running iOS 13 software is having a problem with other devices seeing it as a hotspot. I thought it was the Diasta for weeks. I did everything to troubleshoot it. But, nothing worked. It would not see the iphone SSID. Then if i did connect it would dissconnect in a couple mins.

I have Applecare on my phone. I opened up a case with apple and the tech said that the issue is current being looked at by software engineering. I am the 30th ticket to be attached to the main software bug. No ETA for a Fix.

    https://www.macrumors.com/2020/03/21/apple-acknowledges-personal-hotspot-issues/

Carplay works fine. But, I like some of the android apps better.

Checked and tested iOS 13.5 it is not fixed."

Question for everyone. I am trying to find a reputable seller of the Max6 PX6 CarPlay radio and have combed through all these threads. Some vendors are selling old stock OR PX5's. I have gone out to AliExpress but that is a total crap shoot. Does anyone have a good reliable resource I can order from w/ CANBUS adapter? And yes I know, COVID-19 is delaying orders but no worries. I just want to ensure the latest version and good seller.

This will be going into a 2017 TRD PRO with OEM Audio Plus Reference 500 system.

Thanks @svermilyea for the help! - I have a few questions. 1) Did this come with the Tacoma CANBUS?

    2) Does the SUMI-SMA GPS Adapter also work? https://www.discountcarstereo.com/sumi-sma.html

    3) Did you have to tweak anything in the headunit for OEM Audio?

    1. Comes with the Canbus adapter. The harness is straight plug and play.
    2. You will have to buy the GPS adapter if you wish to use your factory antenna. Otherwise it comes with an antenna you can put on top of the vent tubing just under the dash.
    3. Install the OEM Audio plus harness plug the side that goes to your factory radio into the Dasita harness and plug that harness into your head unit. Again, plug and play.

You are a Saint! Thanks for the help! All good and ordering now!

BTW - Found this guy selling the passive heatsinks to resolve the throttle issues. He is seeing 20-30c temp decreases. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esLXoKC1d9U
