I'm new to Tacoma's and have a quick one. It shifts great, starts where it should, etc. When I shift into L the indicator light on the dash stays in 2nd. Can anyone enlighten me?

    Thanks

First, when you are in Neutral, are you actually in Neutral?
Put it in “N” then give it some gas. The truck should not move.

We can then go from there to help correct the problem.

The only other random thought I had was maybe you're moving too fast to shift into L, so the lever goes, but the truck won't? That's probably not the case, but thought I'd throw that out there.

Giving gas in neutral doesn't move truck, and I'm at a stand still when shifting into L. I did do some further testing in all other gears, and in both L and 2 it functions the same. It shifts from first to second and then remains in 2nd gear until I step it up through to drive manually.
