I went ahead and put the closed cell foam layer over the butyl later. It was 100% worth the effort in terms of actual sound deadening, but also insulation. I noticed it was easier to heat the cab, on successive mornings, with the foam in it.

Awesome. I plan on doing the roof too which should really make a huge difference for temperature insulation.

I'll either be right in front of you or right behind you in that as well. I have some red bar lights to install in the headliner, so when I have it down for that I'll be doing the same.

I've owned at least 10 455 Oldsmobile engines. I used to buy rundown jet boats and part them out on eBay. The engines I would have my friend Wheels rebuild them and sell them on eBay as well. Great engines as long as they aren't held at high RPM's for long periods as their valve covers will fill up with oil and starve the oil pump causing the engine to self-destruct.

He's done a few things to the engine, the biggest of which I believe is aluminum heads. Sadly, he is retired and this is his long time project that gets driven only occasionally for backroad cruises.

Shove this in your vent pipe!! :rofl:This should deaden the sound and still allow air to pass. I just googled Foam Filter.

I got a little excited by this idea, but only mangled the screw even more. Thanks anyway.

I went with a single Rockford Fosgate P3D12-12" Punch on a 500watt amp. It hits HARD .... without being ridiculous. :D

Yup, took awhile to find a low mileage set of OEM takeoffs, but I didn't want to go with Moog or any of the aftermarket variants.

Picked up this 10” JL sub and box with a 600w California Amp off of Craigslist all for $50. Sounds amazing. Perfect for my taste. Major upgrade from my 10” Rockville powered sub
