My clutch is making a creaking/groaning sound when it’s cold out. The dealer couldn’t recreate it (I showed them this video, but that isn’t sufficient proof). I know there is a tsb for this and my truck has 15k miles on it.

Since the dealer can’t recreate it, my question is, will this creak get progressively worse? Hopefully to the point where they can’t deny it’s going on?

It started about two days ago.

honestly it’s not worth bothering with the TSB. People have had it done and it comes back after a while.

I’ve got 20k on my ‘17 and have the same intermittent sqeak. Never done anything about it, but would honestly rather grease it myself then deal with someone replacing parts - less headache and risk in something else worsening.

The only thing there is that the latest TSB is supposed to have improved parts. Some folks got it done in another thread. It is probably too early to judge the success of it.

I have had the pedal and related parts replaced multiple times and the noise always comes back. There are instructions on this site somewhere that show where to lube and what to use to fix it. The tsb doesn't fix it. At least in my experience it doesn't

it’s been a problem forever though. Grease is the easy fix, just becomes another maintenance item

I think the only real fix is throwing it all in the trash like @St.Germain and swapping for non plastic parts

Very true. I did the grease thing at the beginning of winter and life has been good.

yes it's been a 100% success over here. as solid as i could hope for.

no big bells & whistles to report. all i can report is: wow this whole clutch setup is so totally normal and right that i don't even notice it. the OE bit never ever stopped grabbing my attention and that sucked. all i wanted to do was drive. now it's a dream.

Tony i think you could do that parts swap with handtools in an afternoon for under $200.

Using a good high temp grease definitely helps it last longer

I will have to give this a try. Typical dealership scenario for me where they cannot recreate it but it still does it the moment I drive away.

I had the same problem with my '19 with less than 5000 miles on it. Dealer did the TSB no questions asked, hasn't come back since and hope it doesn't.

Guess I'm lucky, my squeak went away after a couple hundred miles and I never bothered to lube it.
