My all stock 2006 has plenty of power for me, especially for a v6. When I mash on the pedal and it revs to 5k before shifting, it moves IMO

I drove a 2014 for around 10 miles, all stock and slightly larger tires. Didn't feel as peppy. I figured it was just me but maybe there's something to this...

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
Disconnect battery for an hour. Reconnect and go for a drive....see if anything feels different.

I haven’t checked mpg but seems good. Running smooth. Possible exhaust leak

I’m not trying to pick on. Seriously.
But when you say noticeable difference, How are you determining the “noticeable difference”?

Are we talking actual Times? (Time over a distance)
    HP & TQ differences?
Or are we going off “feel”

Noticeable differences can be many things.
Shift Mapping will definitely help you “feel” a difference.
    So will gearing.

I guess you are correct as Shift Mapping is part of a tune.
I’ve not seen a “stock” vs “stock with tune” comparison.
Most all have had some type of exhaust and many were with headers.

I’d like to see a 100% stock with a tune. No aftermarket parts.

Maybe @Torspd has a few STOCK vs STOCK w/Tune ONLY papers laying around?

you are right, changing throttle curves and shift mapping totally will make the truck "feel" faster without actually making more power, I was going to dyno my truck after the tune but I really didn't feel like paying for it because I can bet on paper there really isn't much to prove, But it still drives better than stock I guess is what im getting at.

    Look in my Sig.

We have none recently, with stock, versus stock with HP Tuners. Been quite a while since anyone has performed and dyno pulls.

Nothing to lose really. The Tacoma does 'learn' habits and will adjust.

    Thanks man.
I am by no means “Throwing down on any Tuner”
In actuality, who ever the Tuner may be, would probably prefer “some modifications”.
Give the Tuner something to work with, and the results will be far better.

If one goes through the trouble of “tuning”, why not make it worth it with better parts to get maximum gains?
