I know a guy local who has a set of 4600s for the rear, brand new and still wrapped. He's going for a different set up and will sell them to me pretty cheap. Anyone know if theres any advantage for a TRD Sport to replace the Hitachi's? Smoother ride in the back? The Sport is on the firmer side so I was wondering if it would be worth it to throw them on. Don't plan on lifting my 19.

More like a disadvantage unless you plan on doing all four corners...

Was wondering if the oem were standard 4600s.

Well, I can get the back ones cheap. If theres is any advantage to replacing the Sport's Hitachi's like a better ride and I need to do the fronts too in order to get that I will. This is for an on-road truck..I don't really go off road other than maybe to drive down a moderately steep, grass hill to get to the highway when the on-ramp is backed up for a mile:D...that happens often here in Central FL on I4

5100's are cheap on sale. They're probably the best bang for your money. The stock hitachis are shit.

5100s can’t be beat, when it comes to bang for the buck. Great shocks of the money.

    Bilstein says this,
"If you want to keep your truck at stock height then we would recommend our B6 4600 shocks. These shock have been tuned to the stock suspension. Our B8 5100 shocks are tuned to be used at a lifted ride height when the front shock is used to level the truck. Our best riding driving shock at the stock height will always be our B6 4600. Neither shock is more durable than the other and both are great for light off road and towing."

Note: Toyota take off Bilstein's ARE NOT Bilstein 4600's.

Good info in the previously mentioned thread.
