I have searched the forum for a clear answer on this question but haven't come across what I am looking for yet.

I have a 2012 Reg Cab 4x4 with 17's on it running 265/65R17's. I have a good condition set of BFG KO2 265/75R16's that came off my 2007 Frontier sitting in the garage. What would be the smart wheel option to go with to make sure I will both not rub at full lock, and clear the calipers? 16x7 or 16x8? Stock steels? I am not going for looks or the best strength, just a solid cheap option. Thanks in advance.

Awesome. My truck came with the TRD 17's when I bought it used, so I have no experience with this gen Tacoma's steel wheels. Any opinion on 16x8's?
