    Disagree. 100%.

I had a R3. Because I heard this same thought. And it wasn’t all that great. Ended up trading it in for a FZ09. And was much happier.

Selling the R6 because of kids has no more less of a risk than let’s say .. a R3. If you’re riding a fast bike like an ass... or a slow bike like an ass...you’re putting yourself at risk.

Might as well get what makes you happy. And control yourself. Ride safe, don’t stunt, and DO put yourself in situations where the outcome has a higher % of good news...and let’s be realistic at the end of the day... you can have the slowest bike in the world and still get plowed by a car and it’s game over.

Im with you. I know weve had the discussion in here before but imo there are bikes that are too slow whether it be track riding or not. Raced my grom and it was boring on the kart track because it was full throttle the whole time. I didnt mind my 600, do quick spurts up to 100 and back it down again. I didnt need to do 120+ the whole time to have fun with it. It was fun on the track too. I could pass some bigger bikes in the corners.

Granted i think supermoto is the best bang for the buck on the street. Also do wheelies :bikewheelie2:

I hear you, guess it really depends on the bike and how you’re using it. In that example absolutely I’d choose the FZ over an R3.

For me after riding my GSX-R600 on the track it wasn’t as much fun on the street anymore. Once I got a little taste of speed in the environment it was meant to be ridden tooling around on the streets wasn’t as exciting, and not very comfortable either lol

Yea I'd say the cbr1000rr isn't all that comfortable. Especially on long rides.
My plan is to buy a sport tourer in a couple years

    Disagree with you 100%

Way more fun riding a grom fast with lots of turns and speed limits of 35mph than it is riding a 1000cc bike.

Way more fun riding a supermoto at speeds less than 60mph on curvy roads than it is riding a 1000cc* bike.

Way more fun riding a 600cc bike on slower curvy roads at reasonable speeds than it is riding a 1000cc* bike.

Only reason for a 1000cc bike on the street is if you like being a lazy rider short shifting everywhere or have an insane need for speed.

*Disclaimer I don’t have the balls to ride a 1000cc bike to its limits. But I would like a bmw s1000rr one day.

I've topped my bike out many of times. But it's been geared for more bottom end now then top speed. Cuz I used to ride with alot of 600cc bikes. But with that said I enjoy my 1000cc better then a 600. But I guess that's a personal preference

Before regear it was like 198. After like 170ish

I remember a couple years ago my bike was in the shop and barrowed a buddies 600. And insta hated it. It's hard for me to go back to 600 from 1000. Been riding that bike since 2004. I can still toss it around like 600

But it's nothing like these new 1000cc bikes. My brother has the s1000rr and that thing is scary fast

Exactly. You fall into one of my reasons to have a 1000cc bike. Insane need for speed...

Need to put 84 miles on the bike this weekend. It's a 16 mile ride to the Harley dealer. Going to knock that out so I can make an appointment for my 1k service next week.

I'm calling other dealers and independent shops right now. There's no way I'm paying double my monthly payment for a service.
