Been a member here since last July and you didn’t talk me out of one

Picking it up next Tuesday. Been a member since last July. I weighed all the negatives, looked at all the competition, waited for the 2020s and got a great deal with 0% financing. Cheaper overall than I would have paid last summer.

I sat in it last night and said “yep, this is the one”

MGM wasn't in my top 3 color choices when I was in the market, but the more I see it, the more I like it. It really is a great color. Congrats!

The deal was really good. $2500 discount. Its a truck that was supposed to be sold and the guy didn't pass the credit check. Salesman sent me an email saying "Can't find a black sport premium but we have a Magnetic Gray in inventory that just freed up". The only dealer accessory is the Tacoma branded tub floor mats that they gave me for $85 CDN. Plus 0% financing. Pretty satisfied.

He told me that since Toyota isn't shipping Tacomas (up here anyway) until July/August there really isn't a big surplus like you might expect in this economy.

While that might be true about surplus, 2,500 is still an okay discount but even before the economy took a tumble you could still get 10% off msrp on something new with a bit of haggling. I just bought my taco last month and got 12% off of msrp and an extra 1000 added to trade in value on the frontier I had to equal out the negative equity. Which added in over 5,000 in savings. It would still be worth it to haggle at least 10% and put that extra money towards mods lol. Regardless, that is a nice truck and if you ever want to part ways with that hood let me know .

 

Congrats, there will always be someone/somewhere that got a better deal, the important thing is that you are are happy with your purchases and sounds like you are.

 

In my area of Canada I don't believe that to be the case. I took a bunch of quotes and had a few dealers tell me they couldn't get me that price. I don't know, maybe availabilty vs. demand ? Plus at 0% the dealer has to split the financing promo with Toyota. Anyway still happy with the deal.

Ahh gotcha, yeah I have zero knowledge about purchasing cars in Canada so ignore everything I said lol. Well that’s a hell of a deal then if that’s the case. Congrats on the truck man!

That's pretty similar to the deal I just got on my 2020 double cab TRD Off-Road. I got just a touch more off on the price along with 0%, and I get a lot of my vehicles from the same dealer. I know some of the US guys seem to get a lot off the MSRP, but for us canucks I'm not sure you'll get much more off than about $3k. They do like to make their money off parts and service though.
