So after reading this entire thread...

Is there a place I can go and get a head unit replacement, with Apple Carplay, and the steering wheel controls working, installed?? There are some things I like doing on my truck and I'll do anything on my dirtbike. But the thought of tearing into the dash and installing this is simply something I don't want to do. Please don't reply with "You can do it!" Yes, I maybe can, I just don't want to. I admire the fact you can do it.

So, will places like BestBuy or CarToys etc. be able to install everything, including steering wheel controls? Or are they going to charge me $400 for the unit and $400 for the install? Has anyone else paid to have this done, any success stories?

do you have any complaints with this surround?
Some reviews online say it’s junk and that it doesn’t align up and all that and that you can see a little bit underneath and all that.
i want a smooth texture and not the golf ball one like the factory radio is and there aren't many out there.
Gloss black is another that i want too as my 14 surround is gloss and looks great

I live in Charlottesville VA and had my new head unit installed by Crutchfield. It cost me as much to install as the head unit price, but with bad tremors it was worth every cent. Had the Maestro unit installed too. Took them a bit over 3 hours for the install.

So....I finished the ddx9906xr install today. I'm not an electrician so it was a little more challenging for me. There's a lot of wires behind the 2020. There is no idata link for 2020 so you have to use crux adapter. I don't get the cool vehicle info data on the headunit but everything else works. The ddx9906xr is a huge upgrade in sound. The screen is very nice. Wireless AA is awesome. Overall very happy.

Your headunit will have outputs. Your wiring harness adapter will have inputs. Should be plug and play.

You said relocate your rear camera ? So I assume you have one lol. Rca jack from exsisting cam will plug into the new headunit. Example mine has option for 3 cameras.

Installed my radio today! the 12-15 bezel fit my truck perfect since i had the bezel cut for the factory entune already
Getting the SWC to work took a little bit of time. we couldn’t get them working went back in the garage and read and read and than we went back to the truck plugged it all back in and they magically worked. was super weird.
Didn’t do the backup cam relocation yet as i’m waiting for a rca cable and some pins.
But the sound is unbelievable compared to the factory entune junk.

Have to get a thumb drive so i can switch the backround but i love it!

@ronopolis: I had my Jensen VX7024 and my backup camera installed about 2 weeks ago after having it sit in its shipping box for over a year. I wanted to install it, procrastinated about installing it due to the backup camera, got tired of looking at it in the corner of the room, and decided to have the local auto sound/tint shop local to me install the head unit and backup camera for me. It was the best decision that I made for upgrading the audio/video for my truck. It ran me about $500 for the installation and it took them most of the day due to running the wiring for the GPS, bluetooth mic, and backup camera. I’m happy with my purchase, have Bluetooth/CD/DVD/navigation/USB/Apple Play/backup camera, and having someone install it for me. I can’t comment about the steering wheel controls since I didn’t have it done or have Best Buy or CarToys do an installation.
