Hey everyone, i'm looking for some feedback on owning either Volvos or BMWs. My wife and I are in the hunt for a new SUV and want to get either a 2018 BMW X3 (probably the 4 cyl engine) or a 2018 Volvo XC60 T6 however without doing any test drives we are unsure on what to pursue. I'm leaning towards the BMW because the driving experience but the Volvo seems to be more "luxury" which my life likes.

I'm wondering what to expect with owning either of them. As far as vehicle maintenance goes, or common problems or general info. I'll do anything on the vehicles short of requiring a computer programmer so I imagine routine mx will be pretty cheap for both of them.

If anyone has any experience with either vehicles I would appreciate your feedback. Thanks

The BMW turbo 4 cylinder N20 engine is a reliability nightmare. They have timing chain issues where it stretches and then it gets to the point where it fails and the engine can blow up. I would like elsewhere.
