I’m getting ready to swap out the needle bearing for the ECGS bushing but after watching several YouTube videos of how it goes I have a question. A couple of times they have referenced a C clip that keeps the cv axel from easily sliding out. Once you get the c-clip to release and are getting ready to replace the cv axel, how are you guys getting the c clip back in place on the shaft?

Anyone have an exploded parts view of the differential and cv axel? Maybe it would make more sense to me if I could see how the parts are laid out inside the differential.

The c clip doesn't come off the axle.

The groove on the shaft is smaller than the C-clip. When you hammer/pry out the shaft, the C-clip basically compresses into the groove. Same action happens when you shove the shaft back in.

My fear was that the c-clip remained inside the differential which was why I was confused as to how you guys were getting it seated back in place. It all makes more sense now.

As soon as I saw your pic with the c-clip in place I realized I was overthinking it. I appreciate everyone’s help and quick responses.

Hello all, i'm jumping in this thread:
I am just about to reinstall new CV's but am pausing:
Does the painted (bearing/ bushing) surface of this new remanufactured axel (from CVJ Axel -Denver CO) give any concern? Obviously the old CV's wear surface is shinny smooth bear metal from 237k miles of use.... OR am I overthinking this?

gotcha.... Happy with the ECGS Bushing so far? I was not familiar with any Axel company per se, but started researching when I realized the needle bearing was my issue and new that I wasn't going to reinstall that may miles CVs when pulled... and then I came across them, and as soon as I saw that they were a Colorado based company - I was sold... i'm a Colorado Native!

The bushing has been in my truck for probably 70k never had a problem at all.
My needle bearing was pretty trashed.
Completely took that vibe away after I lifted my truck,,
    Hello from Colorado!!
