Replaced my crusty old lower control arms with an OEM set rebuilt with Whiteline bushings and new ball joints. I procrastinated doing this for well over a year and hope to never have to deal with it again. Passenger side alignment cam bolts were seized to the bushings and made for a long day :bananadead:

4 blades later I was able to cut through the cam bolts. These things are no joke...

Thankfully nothing was seized on the driver side. Everything came off with relative ease

Super odd that the factory balljoints don't come with zerk fittings and Toyota doesn't seem to sell just the balljoint... Couldn't find much info on the forums on the best replacement option besides Moog, and ended up with AC Delco's because that's what Napa had in stock. Hopefully they last.

This is my next big project, along with new struts and coils. What kind of blades did you use? I picked up some Diablo carbide ones to try when I do mine.

Best of luck to you man. Spray all the bolts down with PB blaster ahead of time. Your knuckles will thank you :anonymous:

I used a mix of metal-specific blades I had laying around in the toolbox. The red ones pictured are Diablo carbide's.

How's it ride now with the white lines? Gone offroad or any uneven surfaces resulting in articulation? I got mine in a box and am about to do this too.

I feel your pain. I did both sides two weeks ago. The diablo demon blades made short work of them, thankfully. 9221F715-0DA9-437F-A5CF-97E2E6A5C497.jpg 6A27069A-04B4-4689-B958-09B47FBCAF64.jpg today, she got a bath.4404C31A-D0C6-4AEE-A9EB-11F1386CE992.jpg 706E52BF-5418-4F33-9124-4627481F28C9.jpg

TBD. I finished less than an hour ago. Doesn't clunk and pop anymore when I back out of my driveway so that's already a plus

Well today I snapped a bed bolt. Why was I messing with my bed you ask? Because Toyota couldn’t manage to align the bed correctly when they did my frame replacement last fall. I figured rather then waste a day dropping it off I’d just buy a t55 torx and do it myself quick. How the hell did this rust itself solid so quickly, it was just apart. Now trying to decide if I should buy a new bolt and continue on my dime, or bring it to them fix it, effn incompetents.

The one next to it is being fussy too so I gave up, have grilling to do today. I'll mess with spraying penetrant on them during the week then give it another try.

Hey now I'm not saying I'm not regearing. Just curious about that initial feel.
