Longer wheel studs

    I have a 08 tacoma with a 2.5 inch leveling kit running on a little bigger than stock size all terrian tires with the stock wheels. Going for the stock look with a little more aggressive stance I guess you can say but my issue is, there's not a lot of room between the control arm and the side of the tire. It's not rubbing or anything but I would like the tires to stick out just a little bit more to go with that aggressive stance I'm looking for. Would a 1/2 inch spacer be a good option or is that a waste of time? Also are longer wheel studs needed?

    The spacers bolt onto your existing studs and have studs on them so you don't need longer studs.

    Your gonna want to spend money on brand name spacers (spidertrax or Bora) that are hubcentric. If you cheap out and find them on ebay or somewhere else your are going to regret it especially if it is only advertised as being lugcentric.
    I recommend the spidertrax 1.25" spacers. I have run them for years with no issues and have heard of lots of others as well. they are both lugcentric and hubcentric which is great to keep vibrations away.

    Your also going to hear from some people that wheel spacers are the devil and to avoid them at all costs. take this with a grain of salt. If you install the spacers properly you'll have no issues.

    I run spacers on my front hubs so I can clear 285's with my stock wheels. Haven't had an issue, and don't really see how there could be an issue. Feel free to flame me.

    Just always always always check and retorque every 5k (when you rotate tires) and retorque initially after 1000 miles to be safe.

    Thank y'all for the help I really appreciate it.

    I seen that Bora has a .75 inch spacer that comes with the studs build in. Looking towards getting those but do y'all think i will have to trim my factory studs for it to work or will it clear for a smooth fit?

    If you have stock wheels they should clear without having to trim. aftermarket wheels maybe not just depends on the wheel.

    You may need longer studs. You’ll know when you bolt the adapter; the nut should fully engage the stud threads. .75 is about the thinnest to consider to maintain adapter strength. Adapters do stress the wheel bearings a bit more. Not too much a concern for street driven Tacos.
