Just keep in mind; UCAs, brake lines, and CV boots especially lifting at 3".

Since no one has pointed it out yet: you don’t need to lift three inches to fit 285s. Lifting doesn’t help the areas where you’ll need to trim, really (at 3 inches you’ll still need to trim plastic and do a CMC) and going over 2 inches means you need to do UCAs to get back to alignment and preserve down travel in your suspension.

Im lifted at about 2.5” with 285s and I didn’t do a CMC or trimming. All you need is an adjustable UCA.

For budjet 3" lift, check out the suspension option @shouldveboughtajeep is running here with pictures here (Tuff Country UCA's for $300). He also goes into here, and at some point does a :notsure:

Depends a lot on wheel offset/width and which particular tire. It's something to be aware of anyways.

Basically it'll boil down to you can spend ~$1k doing a CMC and wheel well work assuming you farm it out to a shop, or you can spend $1k to buy and install new UCAs to avoid the trimming. Either way going to a 285 is going to cost you more than just the suspension lift. I didn't see OP mention anything about it in their budget, so wanted to call it out as a point of concern.

Adjustable UCAs, such as SPC will allow the front tire to move a good bit more forward. Eliminating the need for a CMC for almost all applications. If you get wheels with a very big offset then you might still need to do a CMC.

Non adjustable aftermarket UCAs have built in caster to help with articulation and alignment after a lift. The problem is that the built in caster is positive on the UCA which moves the tire further back towards the cab mount and causes rubbing. Many people are confused by the built in caster of a UCA. They think the built in caster helps with fitting bigger tires. It doesn’t. It actually makes the rubbing worse.
Your factory UCA will clear larger tires better than an aftermarket one unless it is adjustable.

Positive caster on the upper control arm will move the tire back towards the cab mount.
Positive caster on the lower control arm will move the tire more forward, away from the cab mount.

You came in here asking for advice and now you say you don't need to rethink anything. Good luck with your build.
