So Im going with the icon rxts soon, has anyone had any issues with these and the hangers like the OME packs have? Tried searching around for this info and cant find anything.

The hangers are a later down the road purchase as of right now. Right now Im just doing the RXTs with new bushings (Archive) and thinking of going to the BAMF HD shackle, are there any issues I should be wary of with this setup?

No contact issues with my rxt's and hammer hangers. Reportedly some people have take off shudder with rxt leafs (independent of hammer hangers or not), but I have not had this issue.

Good to know. Ive read that too, seems pretty hit or miss for people. Im really hoping I dont have that issue. I honestly don’t think there is a leaf pack for tacomas that doesn’t come with some issues based off all the posts Ive read trying to find the beast leafs lol

What lift are you running up front?

Deaver doesn't have issues, Dobinsons don't have issues that I know of yet, and Archive is testing packs with the priority of not having any issues. RXTs are ok, but the axle wrap issue is probably a real thing. And that is about it for acceptable leaf packs without issues, and that is based on my experience of making shackle hangers for going on 5 years now.

Do me a favor and don't mix cheap and problematic parts with Hammer hangers. If you are running the stock shackles with RXTs, just reuse the stock shackles with Hh, the combo works well.

I have a shudder on take off with my Deavers, pretty sure it's angle related. Tacomas are a bit touchy when it comes to rear lifts and every truck is a bit different. No setup is dummy proof, some require more love than others

dakars with HH's and crosstube and get 12mph-16mph shudder. didn't go away with shim or not. moral of the story...3 or 4 link but that's crazy $ for a shudder. was there before and after hangers.

This is true, add to that Tacoma has a U-joint recall, they commonly go bad. Best to ensure maintenance is done first, then solve any remaining vibes

New driveshaft perhaps?!? Cheaper than 3 or 4 link, right?

Good to know, I actually haven't looked into the Dobinsons. Okay fair enough. I'm going to stick with the stock shackles and hangers for the time being and just replace the bushings with yours. HH are in the near future though.

What Deaver pack are you running?

Oh damn, thats a stiff ride with no weight. I'm now leaning towards the U402 Stage 2 since Ill probably never carry more that 600lbs. Just hope they dont sag really soon, that was the complaint with the J66 Pack from them... but then again that pack was more for Prerunners anyway.

Yes, J66 was too light, but U402 are the best IMO, and they won't ride rough when you are near the intended weight range

So I upgraded (sorry Eric:anonymous:) my leaf springs with the Dobinsons L59-111-R Heavy (comp to Medium Dakar level but I think max 880#).
So most all of my edc (tools, recovery gear, 285/70r17 spare, etc.) items are out in the photos/install.
Took pre-leaf measurement off the hitch bottom in the nearly level garage floor (photos aren't at same location though):
    Before 16.25"
    20200314_174205.jpg
    After 19"
    20200524_172259.jpg
    [IMG][IMG]

Install of the @ARCHIVE u-bolt flip kit and his bump stops was smooth, ended up cutting 3/4" off the top once snug for clearance and assurance should a better, say East coast fabricator for instance, larger stack of leafs be needed I'd have room to adjust.

    Dobinsons L59-111-R leaf installwinstall p
    went smoothly.
Drilled out the e-brake bracket to mount using the @cubie fix a la the front bracket bolt.[IMG]20200524_152121.jpg 20200524_152112.jpg

Can't say enough about the absolute fit, finish (crosstube is diy) and beefiness, it is undeniable. The reality is the HH's are now one step further enhanced by the new leaf's...bumps haven't been "tested" yet.

@EatSleepTacos did my hangers (ECGS bushing and CMC). I think with a auto parts store and lunch break, #randyFAB had it all done in 4+ hrs. That said I think I was his 4th set of HH installed.

I think he's got some great points possibly pinned in the first page or so.
