This looks like a 1958 Rambler American Wagon. Original patina. And from the look of the wheels
most likely has been hot rodded. I'm thinking an LS power plant.

I think the article I was reading said it was a 1960, but I will have to go back and double check.

Growing up in Orlando in the 60's The lady across the street from us had a 1939 Packard that had a very similar body
style to this car. It had a huge straight eight engine.
Glad to see somebody put these old rides likes this one to good off road use. Or in this ones case the show circuit.

Lots of American made cars during this time had "quad headlights" Most all started in 1958 and yes could have lasted for several years.
Ford Dodge Chevy and even Rambler and Cadillac used them...

Even some later 70's examples like the GTO judge shown above had the quad headlights.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
That GTO is amazing! My first car was a 1965 Pontiac Parisienne. The Parisienne is the name given to the car in Canada, I forget what the US name for the model was. Maybe Catalina or Laurentian?

My dad bought the car new. That car was used more for work than most trucks. It was used for countless fishing trips, hauling our boat 600 miles each return trip to lakes in BC. It was used for at least 15 hunting trips in northern BC, hunting for moose. My dad and 2 buddies, plus all the camping gear they would need for 2 weeks stowed inside. On the way home, which was a 600 mile drive from Alaska Highway, would do the return trip with a full sized bull moose strapped to the roof racks. A common sight at our home as growing up all we ate was moose and deer.

My brother who is 3 years older than me, got the Parisienne first. When I turned 16, I bought it from my brother for $250. It had about 250,000 miles on it. I drove it a couple of years and sold it for same price. The guy who bought it drove it until it had 325,000 miles on it, and he sold it for $400. That car never required any major repairs. Clutch, brakes, new radiator, etc. No power anything on that car, not even brakes or steering. Three on the tree, I recall it was a 289 in it. Not big, but so much pulling power for a car.

The picture attached is just from the internet. Have some pics of that car but need to scan and digitize them.

Also shown here is my second car, and is my photo. Not best pic as it was taken with an old crappy Kodak Instamatic.

It is a 1970 Firebird Formula 400. John Delorean said it was his personal favorite of all the cars he designed for Pontiac.

I had the car for 10 years, had it fully rebuilt. Always kept stock except for after market wheels and tires.

I traded it in on my first truck, a new 1986 Ford F150 4x4, straight-6, 4 speed manual. No power anything on that truck, and to this day still the best truck I have ever owned. Love my 2016 TRD OR, but too many electronics today and too many niggling issues with most new vehicles these days.

Not so that old Ford, solid as a rock. Went on maybe 300 off-road fishing trips all over BC, brutal roads. Not a single recall for the truck, and the only maintenance I did in 13 years with that truck was typical brakes, oil changes. Changed the clutch and radiator once in 13 years. Did all the work myself, except for the clutch. That truck never broke down once and I beat it up bad in the bush as I fish solo, and remote. Never see any guys where I go. Paid $14,000 new price for the Ford and 13 years later sold it "as is" for $5,000.

Had my Firebird up at 150mph a couple times on a local drag speedway. Drove from Calgary to Vancouver and on the long straightaways (no other traffic) averaging 130mph. Total highway cruising car, but could also get rubber shifting from 1st to 2nd at 35mph.

Over all this time though, trucks ruled. On my 4th 4x4 now, and all are used 30 - 50 times per year on deep remote trips on abandoned roads in BC. I have a lot of spots I fish that are pretty much private, I never have any competition on the lakes and never see any trucks as each off road trip is a pretty long haul. I have been doing that for 35 years now, and can't get enough. Tomorrow is next fishing trip, and I've already done 5 trips in the last month with my Taco.

Just realized that grey colored Pontiac is a right hand drive w/ Aussy plates.

Yeah me too, funny! I need to scan some old pics of our Parisienne, maybe have one with a moose on the roof.

I had seen some videos from drag races in Puerto Rico where a guy in an old Mazda
lost a flywheel at 9,000 rpm . it sliced through the passenger side door and killed
one person in the viewing stands. Tragic yes but it does happen.

Hence the need for a 'bulletproof' scattershield...Someone famous in the drag racing world (can't remember who...I want to say Garlits or Mickey Thompson) lost a right foot many moons ago, due to a clutch/flywheel explosion.

While we're on the subjects of Pontiacs and money pits, here's my 1968 Firebird nearing completion. I did most of the work myself the first time - 20 years ago - but this time I farmed it out to a well known Poncho shop. It's an original and documented RA1 400 car, but was totally stripped when I got it. We returned it to factory color (with a little candy in the clear coat) and period correct appearance, but replacing the factory drive train was not possible. It will now have a 428 with lots of internal mods and Edelbrock ProFlo EFI, a Tremec TKO 500, and a Moser 12-bolt rear end. We're just waiting for the bumpers to come back from the chrome shop - delayed due to Corona - and a few more odds and ends to get finished. Hoping to have it back in a month or two, but you never know with these things.

Looks exactly like the 68 that one of my dad's friends tooled around in back in the early 70s. "Uncle Mike" was the coolest because he'd take us out for ice cream and some gratuitous acceleration.
