When I worked at a car dealership the salesmen would often say “there’s an ass for every seat” so someone will buy it sooner or later.

Well... but you are also getting second hand mods. Getting band new mods costs more. similar to getting a brand new car costs more. The guy is trying to sell his mods like they are brand new.

Think of it this way: he is asking you to pay over the new retail price for a truck that has over 60k miles on it. That's the first big maintenance cycle on any vehicle where big things genuinely begin to need repair. While the add ons are nice, they, in and of themselves, have caused (directly or indirectly) additional wear and tear to the stock truck above and beyond what it would have had if he hadn't modified it. Honestly, he'd be lucky to get the KBB on it based on stock valuation because most buyers simply won't buy a used truck for over new prices.

Lost somewhere in the banned member memorial thread. BST violations. :D

When someones ad says -**NOT interested in lowball cash offers- I can respect that.

I never say that in an ad though. I prefer just to say a simple 'no thanks' if that happens.

When the ad says -Perfectly fine with the truck sitting in storage- they are either very comfy money wise or just bluffing.

I've seen sports cars way over priced, with no intention of selling. But the wife wants it gone, so it's listed for sale. Then he can say 'economy is bad, no one is buying'. LOL

I can't find fault with a seller trying to get top dollar or make a profit on their sale. I still say if I was in the market for a used Tacoma, it would have to be much closer to stock. I'd still have to get a decent deal on a used Tacoma, as the used ones are still more than what I want to pay used.

A dead give away that buys should be aware especially at that price is that the truck is out off-roading in the ad picture. You have absolute no idea how this guy drives and likely with these modifications he would have wheeled it pretty hard. Now I get it, thats what you build the truck that way, but you have to know that the prospective buyer will need to be cautious.

Way over priced. The big thing against him is the niche market. Yes it’s like a lot of TW, however TW is a VERY small portion of the Tacoma market, we like to think we aren’t.

All that said though, with where he is, he will get it. Some rich kids parents or someone that can afford to overpay for a ready made rig will eventually buy it. The millions of people in the area make it an almost certainty that it will eventually reach someone that doesn’t care the asking price vs. blue book price.

Someone will buy it. I know I'd be asking around the same if it were mine, it's nicely done really.

    Reasons I wouldn't buy it:
1st model year (least amount of features, most amount of issues).
    Sunroof (I'm tall)
Blazing blue pearl (known to have issues)

And the big one, In 5 years it might sell for $15k if you kept it clean. Knowing me I'd pick up a bunch of trail damage, break something expensive and it would sit in my yard until 2030 when I'd sell it for next to nothing.

Yep, agreed. 60K is the new 120K for these new trucks. Also, that truck is the 2016 version with the failing CKP sensor and it's out of warranty now.. so.. there's that.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

That was my.thinking as well. If he has wheeled it, the possibility is HIGHLY likely that he has wheeled it hard and given the mods and such the wear and tear especially at the radiator core support has started and been accelerated (actually it's more like damage with that soda can thin sheet metal up front) why would I want to inherit that piece of junk from someone else already damaged?

Money pit. With the mods on that one, I wouldn’t touch it unless I did them. Only because I know what happens when that shit break$

If there are people who spend 40k on a stock pro, then people will see the value in that truck. No, I don’t think it’s worth it since for 45k I can get a better off road rig. But, I’m in line to agree with @JoeCOVA , he will get it or close to it.

Base model OR can be had for low 30's. A buyer would have to feel like the mods add 13k in value. To me it's an easy no given the usage, age, and lack of warranty for the cost.

I would think it like this, would you buy a roughly used second hand truck @60k miles, buy bunch of second hand mods and ask a shop to put everything together for a grand total of $45k?

I don’t get the logic “someone with money to spend will buy it”. Someone with money to spend can do it cheaper if they use a second hand truck and mods (Even if they ask a shop to put it together), or if they are willing to spend more money, they can built something with brand new parts and a second hand truck for a grand total of 45k.

Sitting in the storage? Very similar to other posts about Tacoma being sold for $4k, remember that?

Speaking of which... Am I the only one who noticed that he has a winch bumper with an aftermarket fairlead and no winch?
