What is this button for? 3rd gen 2020 Tacoma off road

 

Something aftermarket

 

Tpms button or green button?

 

I just got it a week ago from the dealership didn’t notice it until now

I've got something similar in the same spot. I think it's an alarm. Not 100% postive.

 

What extra mods does the truck have? Lights? Alarm system?

 

follow the wires to the box and then get a number off the box and google it. That should tell you. We cant answer what it does by looking at a button

 

That’s the “ejecto seato”

 

TPMS, check your manual, it explains how to reset it as needed.

 

That’s aftermarket. And they screwed into the plastic. If you just bought the truck I’d demand they remove it and replace the trim piece


Likely something to kill the truck if you start missing payments... some dealers do that

For the tpms.

 

@Alexgloronado did you purchase the truck new or used? The green button in not factory. Have any accessories been installed?

 

Push that button for 3 seconds and your Tacoma grows wings now all you need to do is find a run way and get her up to about 60 miles an hour and you are airborne.

 

Bought the truck brand new. No aftermarket mods. Just realized it was there when I was cleaning the interior this morning

 

Possibly a GPS tracker installed by the dealer to manage inventory and track whereabouts of the truck.

 

Have you pushed it lol.

 

You could trace the wires back like @auskip07 mentioned in post #09, or ask the dealer like @Empty_Lord mentioned in post #13. I would also be upset that they drilled and screwed something into your brand new dash like that.

 

Ya but for them to drill it into the plastic like that is kinda dumb.
