If I were to buy 2015 sport

If I were to buy a 2015 TRD sport used now , in 7 years the frame started to rust out would toyota give me a new frame?

They would recall it send you a letter drive to the dealer and they replace

Ditto. I had 5 years in my 2015 TRD, didnt drive it in the winter, frame replacement carried to the new owner when I sold it a couple months ago and they offered a free undercoating that also carried to him since I never had it done.

If you have any issues, calling and complaining loudly to Toyota Corporate from what Ive heard gets things done ($3500 cam tower leak on a Tundra fixed for free)

 

interesting....they flat out told me to F off when I asked them to replace my leaky third brake light. I hope I am in the minority

 

Out of warranty?

If not, open a case with Corporate. It's a known issue.

But if out of warranty, 'goodwill' is what you have to ask for.

 

Its not a recall. Its a Customer Support Program. Huge difference from a legal perspective.

@AkAChizzler, coverage is 12 years from 'Date Of First Use' (DOFU) with no mileage limitation.

That's DOFU of the vehicle, not your ownership. Toyota has that recorded for the VIN based on original sale.

Another qualifier is it living in snow salt states.

This info is based off a letter I just got from Toyota for my '13, even though its only been registered in Florida.

 

It is, I got neither. For a known issue they didn’t care. He basically told me that I was out of luck.

Toyota just sent me a letter for my 2015. I now have a 12 year coverage on the frame from the date I put the truck in use.

Your truck should fall under the frame undercoat sent out a few months ago. Mines [2015] at the dealer now getting it done. As I understand it, there are two different programs, one just checks it and puts some caps on and one seals the frame inside. Both then get the 12 year extended warranty for the frame. No charge and they should have a loaner for you to drive because it'll take a few days. They should be able to tell you which one your truck falls under using the VIN number.

 

bought a 2013 sport 1.5 years ago. just got my letter 3 months ago!
