First off welcome to the 5 lug forums

Yeah but piecing together a kit comes out wayyyy cheaper. eBay 3" lift spacer, fatbobs long aal for 5 lugs and usually longer ubolts (not fatbobs mine rusted quick).

Also the shocks that come with the one kit are kinda meh. We usually run bilstien 4600s (meant for our truck) and rear shocks meant for a 6 lugs 0-1" lift (Bilstien 5100 if you want to match or fox for slightly better performance.)

That with a black box mod and rims with 4in bs and around -11mm offset and you should be good for around 31-32s. Some of us are crazy and run 33s because offroad.
    Here's mine on 33s.

I just did the fat Bob lift kit. Had to cut off the old shocks and I added the extra 1/4 inch spacer on the drivers side to correct the taco lean. Gonna do the shackle flip eventually to get the truck rake back...took me 12 hrs for the fat Bob instead of the recomended 3 hrs...also I drilled 3 holes on 3/4 plywood to insert the front struts up side down to be able to rotate the struts 180°. Def get new rear shocks

Yeah just slightly in the travel. The biggest place I noticed it was turning sharply and the on ramps for highways. Less body roll is nice

What’s the part number for the fox or icon rear shocks?

Will the fit with stock 2wd suspension or do they require the AAL?

They'll bottom out without the aal. Cant remember the part # off hand but it's for a 6 lug Tacoma with 0-1" lift.

Ok so I just went to 235/75 tires and now I want to lift the truck. I understand the basics of the actual lift but the shocks confuse me. Bilstein seems to sell multiple different shocks all labeled 5100's, do they all fit our trucks rear-end or it there specific model number requirement (same question for the 4600's)?

173485D0-0991-43D4-8693-CDC833295781.jpg Just installed 3” Ebay spacer. I had 235/75/15 but wanted to go big or go home so went 31x10.50x15, love em! Rub on stock wheels a little bit but going to put on some Cragar soft 8’s 15x8 4.00 backspacing with -13 offset & that should solve the rubbing. (Thanks 5 lug fury) The rear is stock for now, installing the bilstein 4600’s in rear this weekend & replacing ball joints, inner & outer tie rods, sway bar end links & new bushing. Will send pics when done.

I have a guy getting rid of the front struts off a 2016 double cab, what are the compatibility issues between those and a 2006 base 5 lug?

The FBG shocks were really stiff. There are some pot holes and dips in the road that when I went through them I would hit my head on the headliner, with the 5160's I feel the bump but it's not a big deal.

To smooth it out ride more, I'm thinking of dumping the AAL, doing the shackle flip and switching to a different leaf pack.

I think the 5160s were worth the money for the ride improvement they made.

I noticed on my 5 lug tacoma that there is a block between the axle and leaf spring. since the axle is above the spring, the block is essentially lowering the rear of my truck. Is this how it came stock? I have just under 1 inch of rake. I have been looking at leveling kits with an AAL for the back. With an AAl wouldn't I need to go to a 5100 shock because of the added travel ?. Couldn't I just remove the block to bring up the rear. Id also like to know what the options are to bring up the front end other than a leveling kit. Id like more suspension travel.

A 5100 would fit stock without the block but you would most likely bottom out on the shocks from time to time, an aal would fix that. Unfortunately we really don't have options for the front unless you find discontinued total chaos control arms.
