I've been told by people who should know that Revolution 5.29 re-gears are less likely to cause drone than Nittro in Tacomas. And moreover just seem to be more compatible with the Toyota Tacoma. Any opinions to the contrary?

I've been told they're identical and made by the same company.

Well that's an interesting twist that would kind of rule out one working better than the other.

Nitro by far seems more popular than Revolution on this forum. With that being said, Nitro IS more expensive by about $300. I also liked how they packed their gears and master kits (really detailed oriented) compared to Yukons.
I went with Nitro because I got it on their May 4th deal which came out to be $1,250 the same price as Revolution and Revolution didn't have the 5.29 at the time. If I were to get it right now, I may go with Revolution due to the fact that it's cheaper, but probably get it REM/Cryo'd for peace of mind which brings the price back up to Nitro's range. However, I understand that there's not a lot of Tacoma's running that gear on here and as such kinda not really tested compared to the Nitro's.

I don't know anyone personally running Revolution though so I don't know what to say about it. In my opinion, the drone/whine depends on the installer as well as the break-in period if it is from a good brand with tight tolerance.

So are you willing to take the risk of Revolution that has somewhat following with the Tacos or take the more expensive yet safe route of Nitro with considerably a lot more backing/proven track record with the Tacos.

Shops in SoCal who are selling both seem to be recommending the revolution due to the fact that there's less reports of grinding or whining noises coming back from customers. Anyone here have the revolution 5.29 and still has whining/grinding?
