    Hey guys,

I'm wondering if I could fit my 04 trx450R in the bed of a 3rd gen tacoma. I know the wheel well width is narrow (41" tapered to 45"). The front tires on the atv measure roughly 45.5" wide. Anyone else face this issue with these trucks? I know I could get a trailer, but for just one ATV, this seems like overkill.

If you have a long bed, you can fit it with the tailgate up. I regularly throw my YFZ450 in the back of my long bed 2019 Sport and it fits just fine. Would suggest having another person help. Lift the front so the bike is standing with the tires on top of the tailgate, then you and friend pick up the rears while pushing it forward. Make sure the bike is in neutral and you're level.

    Hi Daniel,

Are the front tires of your yfz on top of the wheel wells? My buddies have those bikes and they are roughly the same size as mine.

    Hi Shiftin,

Thanks alot. Are the front wheels on the wheel wells? Also, is that the extended bed or short bed?

I have a yfz450 that kinda sorta fits into my bed. My atv has an upgraded suspension and control arms that are wider than stock so it's a bit of a pain. If your atv is stock though, it shouldn't be much of an issue for the width. Obviously the tailgate will have to be down if you have a short bed. You'll most likely need the help of another person loading it up though.

If you're young, strong, and still have a decent back then I don't think getting a trailer is worth it...

I definitely miss my chevy long beds though were I could load my yfz in by myself...

It’s a long bed but I’ve had I in a short bed as well and it fits between. As long as your suspension is stock

My trx250x (a little smaller) juuust barely doesnt fit in my short bed length-wise. Width wise fits fine with a decent amount of clearance on both sides. The front wheels didnt even go over the wheel wells. Here, for reference.

I found it easier to put the front wheels up on top of my tonneau. It fit in the shortbox perfectly, still with enough room on the sides.

I transported my 420cc Honda Rancher in my short bed. You'll break your back trying to lift it up, even with two people - get a ramp.
