I have a question regarding these brackets. Now I already asked cali raised first and I never got a response back.my question is I want to install the hidden stealth led lower bar on my truck but I don’t want to use there led bar. I found a rough country black series witch has a all blacked out look and its a 30” bar but overall length with housing is 31 has any installed a led bar that’s roughly 30-32 with there brackets and it worked . Thanks in advance

Hello! As long as the light bar mounting locations are 31.5 bolt hole to bolt hole you will be fine.

    Thanks,

Hey @TACOMA2NDGEN did you end up getting another LED bar and using the caliraised brackets? If so what did u go with ? I just placed an order for the caliraised ones and even started a thread asking about using a diff bar. No replies yet. Didn’t see ur thread when I posted.
The language on the caliraised specs for the brackets says “can fit up to a 32” mounting width”. The dimensions for the diode dynamics bar I’m considering give so many measurements I’m not sure what they consider the actual mounting point one. Would love to know if another bar like the DD or that rough country one you saw would work with the brackets.
I was looking at this one below (1st pic from DD. Their stage series bar which they make a kit for the 2016-2020 Tacoma but not our gen). Assuming they just have a bracket specific to that gen
2nd Pic is of the caliraised bar dimensions which shows same overall 33.25 measurement on that mounting portion. I don’t know anything at all about this stuff but Just curious on what all others have done using the brackets and other bars.

It fits great the black series rough country double row. I know the Cali Raised lights are brighter but for as much as im going to use it im more worried about leaks. And the rough country is better than most “Amazon” cheapies

Ok nice yeah I was also wondering if having the single row would look behind the grill housing. I thought going single would allow me to possibly transfer the light to another vehicle or aftermarket bumper in the future easier than say a beefy tall double row light. Is it adjustable as to how high or low u want the light to sit level ?

Yes, there's enough play / adjustment built into the brackets to allow you to level the light before aiming.

This is exactly what I want to do. Add a DD 30" hidden bar to compliment my SS3 yellow fogs.

No pics other than that document Sorry.

The 2012-2015 part is (ONLY) talking about removing the front bumper to gain access for install. You wont need to do that for a '08. Just skip that box.

Let me see if I can do this from memory after installing one in my 2014. The biggest pain is loosening and removing the four (14mm) nuts on the front crash bar. Take them off and set them aside. Next, remove the front grill and the center upright. Now loosely assemble the brackets to the light bar and slither it down and into location on one side, then the other. Hang it on the four studs for the crash bar. Reinstall the four nuts, but leave them finger tight. Reinstall the center upright and the front grill. Now you have to level the bar up and down / left and right before tightening the 4 bolts. Tighten the aiming bolts on the bar just tight enough to allow you to re-aim the bar by hand. Finally, go out on a dark empty road and final aim the bar before tightening the aiming bolts. I think I got most of the important stuff there.

I got the Sports. Love them and I dont need the pros. The WIDE and focused beam is the biggest advantage of SS3 vs other brands. They allow me to see the side of the road without being overly powerful for mix environments I drive. Both the Sport and Pro are DOT approved... I think that the sports is a more realistic use of them for general city and rural driving. Pro if you REALLY want to see a lot out there. The pros have a less defined beam than the pros, so you will get a little more verticle light bleed into peoples eyes. I like not having to turn my fogs on and off while driving home from fishing on a country road. With the Pros you will def need to turn them off for some level of courtesy or if you are not on level ground lol. Those Pros are Bright!!!!

See my post in the DD SS3 thread for some info/install write up/ and pics

@tattooedsnake I almost went with the method above Diode dynamics 30 hidden bar. (Still may), but was wondering if it would look a bit slim just being the single row in our lower grill area which looks bigger/taller than the 2012 + lower grilles. Let me know what u end up going with. I bought a 32 Amazon auxbeam for now just to see what I think. Diode dynamics ones are back ordered til late sept anyways.
