Front driver door done. 50% coverage on the inside skin and 100% on the outside skin. The sound difference is actually crazy already. The door is definitely heavier and feels much more solid to open and close and doesn’t sound anywhere near as hollow. Can’t wait to finish the doors and get the roof done. My dad had a ton leftover from sound deadening his 2019 Tundra. It’s made by a company called soundskins. It’s definitely expensive but it combines the butyl layer and the mass vinyl deadener into one skin. I was going to buy Noico sound deadener on Amazon but it’s only butyl. It’ll definitely make a difference but to really cut down on outside noise you need a mass loaded vinyl layer. This stuff runs about $100 a roll which is 11 square feet. I used about 3/4 of a roll on my rear wall, and I should be able to do all 4 doors with 2 rolls. Whatever I have left is going on the roof and if there’s anything left it’s going on the floor.

Stuff is really easy to do, just time consuming and takes a lot of patience cutting everything out to fit perfectly. Started at 2:30, only have the passenger rear door to do now. Gonna save the roof for tomorrow

Back wall and all 4 doors are done. Not the prettiest but I can already tell a HUGE difference in sound quality from my speakers and a quieter cab in general. Can’t wait to get the roof done, I have 4 rolls left. Might be able to do the floor but I doubt it. Worth it? Throwing around the idea of doing this at least to my doors and back wall but not sure. How many rolls more or less did that take?

I’d say it’s well worth it if you have an aftermarket sound system. It definitely adds more bass and clarity to the door speakers as well as the sub. My cab is definitely quieter overall, but it isn’t a crazy world changing difference. I knew it would cut down the road noise a bit but I did it more to improve my sound quality. I love it so far. Took me 3 rolls to do the entire back wall, and all 4 doors. Each door has some pretty solid coverage on the inside and 100% coverage on the outside. I covered the outside not to reduce vibrations, but to seal the door as best as possible to get better sound out of my JL speakers and it definitely worked. Each roll is 11 sq/ft. Used about 3/4 of a roll on the back wall, and about 2 and 1/4 of a roll on the 4 doors. You’d be in $300 if you just wanted to do the doors and back wall. It definitely made a difference and I’m very happy with the results.

I see man, i really want to cut down on the road noise as they are pretty noisy on the highway. Not worried much about the cost as i am about the time involved ripping my interior apart and applying it. But for 300 bones it doesn’t sound like a terrible idea. Thanks for the reply and btw i’m also a broke college student, i just finished my first year at New Mexico State. How’d finishing this semester up online treat ya?

It’s honestly super easy. The hardest part is making it all look pretty. I started at 2pm today and finished around 6:30. That was doing all 4 doors. The material is super easy to work with and you just cut it with scissors. It’s time consuming but very easy.

And nice! Just finished my first year at Baylor University. Online classes were a joke. A lot of my friends were dying with their workload but all I had were a few quizzes a week and tests every 2 weeks. Finished with a 4.0. Can’t understand the money paid for those quizzes and tests but whatever I got great grades. How was it for you?
