I don't have a Voodoo rack, so I'm not exactly sure which ones you need?

I personally use 1up's flush mount config with the 80/20 crossbars that are part of my Mobtown Offroad rack system.

There is another choice, too, if you haven’t seen the summit brackets.
    https://www.summitracks.com/product/cm-nt-cargo-management-bracket-system/
These are made to attach under a cover and accept Yakima 1a towers.

While I fully intent to upgrade to the 1up tray for added strength and stability; I was able to find a Swagman upright roof rack on Amazon. It's cheap and you get what you pay for, but it fits the Voodoo bars and it's perfect for getting a bike around town. I've driven on the highway and its stable. I added an extra tie down from the frame to the Voodoo bars for extra security.IMG-1607.jpg IMG-1608.jpg IMG-1609.jpg IMG-1606 (1).jpg

So I just purchased the 1up rack with the KB Voodoo bars and realized when I got it that the flush mount will not work with the Voodoo bars. The diameter of the barrel nut for the T slot is larger than the width of the opening in the bar. Has anyone else swapped hardware to keep the flush mount without having the run the bracket beneath the Voodoo bar?

I've been lurking here and ended up ordering the Hi Rise bars after even seeing a comment from kb voodoo that the Yakima frontloader racks work with their bars, perhaps they meant some old version of the bars? I'm tapped out and don't want to spend more money on other bike carriers right now, so I figured I would give this a shot. After years of square and aero Thule bars on cars, this rack seems great for making accessories at the hardware store.

I just got the bars today and played around with this idea. This is 1" square tubing, but 3/4" will probably be a better fit. I can't seem to find 3/4" perforated tube, so I might just drill holes in non perforated tube which is easier to find, and use shorter bolts to lower the tube and bike rack closer to the Hi Rise bars. Maybe the shorter bolt will mean more strength on a bumpy road with a wobbly bike? I don't do any metal work or anything, but I've pushed limits of rooftop accessories and weight limits and this looks trustworthy to me. I'll post an update when it's done and mounted.

I like the 1up solution(s) posted- very creative, a few questions come to mind:

    1. does the bike have to be on the outer edge because of its length w a short bed?
    2. does the 1up have flexibility (like a track) as to where it connects to the cross bars or is there a fixed position to connect to cross bars...thereby dictating the position (spacing between) of the voodoo cross bars?
    3. Does the 1up in silver v. black actually mean something with respect to the bike you can carry or just an aesthetic choice?

Last/related question for me is I am deciding between xtang 2.0 and leer 350 hardfolding cover. Seems Leer introduces some extra cap/rail that may or may not interfere with voodoo legs-- whereas xtang seems pretty straightforward. Any feedback welcome. Thanks!! Would love to keep factory track and cleats and still have voodoo crossbars above the tri-fold cover...

    Thanks!

Hi all - hoping to bring this thread back to life in the hopes that someone found an option that works with the voodoo bars. I found this just trio works in a gladiator thread but it’s slightly modified and doesn’t use all the screws: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/bike-rack-that-fit-kbvoodo.32771/

im about to get a pair of the voodoo bars but I’m shocked that there isn’t much information on compatible bike racks for the bars beyond this thread.

    1. Not sure I understand the question. The bolts on the 1up slide in a track, so you could shift it towards the back if mounting to short bed so you have enough clearance for front arm.
    2. Yes it’s flexible since bolts slide into a track on the bottom. They have install instructions you can go view on their website that shows this clearly.
    3. Silver and black are just color preferences

I have a Truxedo Truxport cover that works with the kbvoodoo bars, so I can’t comment on the two other covers you mentioned.

I love the 1up rack with my kbvoodoo bars. In fact I have a 2nd rack coming in this week, so I’ll have one mounted on each side of my tepui. I think the the 1up rack is the best option for a bike rack for mounting to kbvoodoo cross bars - IMHO.

Thanks for that response. I ended up with an inexpensive cover in tyger- really good for the ~$250 price imo as a stop gap to just getting a cover. I think it will work fine with vodoo and 1up-- which based on your responses and info is the winning combo for me- thanks for that. will report back after i buy/install for spring. appreciate it.

For sure! I got my Truxport for $278 (after tax/shipping/coupon) and have been real happy with it. It also easily rolls back and with a few shimmies, I can roll it all the way back to the cab under the bars, which is handy. (99% of the time I don't need to roll it back that far - but I have the option if need-be). If Im out camping or something, usually rolling it back to the first bar, or just behind it, suffices for reaching whatever I need in the bed.

It looks like 1up is the move - I’ve read some really great reviews. What bolt size do I order to fit the kb voodoo bars?

Hi all - decided to go with a different option. I ordered a rocky mounts loball fork from REI and a rear tire tray from KB Voodoo. I'll send a pic when it gets warm enough to load my bike, but here is the fork mount!
This seems to be a more affordable option that allows more flexibility when taking down the bars.

I actually started with that setup; not a bad option. What did you pay total for the loball and rear tire tray?

My opinions based on MY experience and use-case...

    Pros to the loball/tray setup:
    - cost; its a little cheaper
    - if you decide to part ways with the cross bars, or simply remove them, you could mount the loball to the bed rail tracks

Cons to that setup (compared to a 1up rack on cross bars):
    - tire removal necessary to mount your bike (I love not having to remove my tires)
    - your locked into forks that fit into that specific mount (With my 1up I can carry my mountain bike, my road bike, or my fixy bike all in the same rack)
    - my rtt can open and lay over my 1up rack when its folded down; the loball wouldn't allow that

I think both setups would require the removal of 4 bolts total - so I don't see any advantage one over the other in terms of "ease of removal."

Just my opinions and thoughts to help this thread/let folks make their decisions. Many different options work for many different folks.
