So I was at the river (Colorado River in Arizona just north of Yuma) this weekend with my 19’ ski boat. On Saturday I was pulling my boat out of the water and a Chevy 1500 on the other side of the ramp was attempting to pull out his bass boat. He somehow managed to slip way down the ramp, all 4 tires in the water, his cab was flooded, and his trailer dropped off the deep end of the ramp. He couldn’t get out his rear tires just spinning. All in front of a packed launch ramp with people everywhere the guy was pretty embarrassed! I keep a tow strap in my truck so I decided to help out, I backed my boat up in front of his truck, hooked up the strap from the back of my trailer to his front end, and gave it a shot. My wife was sitting in my boat saying there’s no way we’re getting him out. Well guess what, the Taco handled it no problem! Pulled my boat, the Chevy, and his boat straight out of the water! Haha it felt pretty good. And my truck isn’t even 4wd.
Just thought I’d share! These Tacoma’s are workhorses man!

That’s awesome. Glad you helped the guy. My truck has rescued two Ram trucks, a 1500 and a 2500. One at the beach (his 4x4 wouldn’t engage) and another in mud. Vehicles are recovered all the time, but it’s always amusing seeing a littler truck pull out a bigger truck. At least to me.

    Awesome man.
Always nice to see people helping others out.

I would have probably not used my boat trailer to hook to, in fear or warping the trailer.
But it sounds like you got it out just fine.

Man, sounds risky using the boat trailer..... but luckily it ended well.

You should have just backed him into lake and put him out of his misery for owning a Chevy.:rofl::rofl:

Good of you to help and even better when you're pulling a Chevy!

Facts! This one in particular is great because there is a bar right next to the ramp. Always a good time enjoying a cold beer in the evening and watching the $hit show haha.

Perfect, I have seen few trucks launched with their boats in my day.

It only take a little extra momentum sometimes....not to knock you off the high horse. I’ll bet the chevy had some crappy tires

    Like, so many.
This thread led me down a YT rabbit hole of boat launches gone wrong.

Nice! For whatever reason I’m always rescuing Ford F-150 trucks. This last semester at my university I got a random Facebook call from some kid who has seen my truck around campus and asked if I could help him get unstuck in the snow. One of his buddies took his F-150 down there too. Well, second kid got his truck stuck so I had to pull out one of the recovery trucks before we could even get to the f-150 that was originally stuck. Pretty funny when everyone bashes on me for driving a Tacoma yet I’m always pulling them out and almost never getting stuck
