Just bought a 2020 Tacoma TRD 4x4 Off Road. This is my second Tacoma, but the first time I am looking to purchase a tonneau cover. I admit I am clueless as to whether I should purchase a soft or a hard. I am planning several road trips and may be moving to Arizona. I haul things fairly often so I would like one that is easy to transition if I need to haul something that won't fit under the cover. Recommendations?

I have a cheap Amazon Gator brand soft fold up cover, the soft cover keeps things 99% dry and out of sight. Some Water does get in on the cab side but not very much. The soft fold up comes all the way off in about 5 minutes, not the easiest thing but it works. The hard covers are much more pricey and a bit more secure. What I have learned about thieves, is that if they want something they are going to figure out a way to get it. soft or hard most covers can be infiltrated rather easily. Unless its like a diamondback those are much stronger but very pricey.
