Well the trashcaster managed to live up to her name. After finally getting the proper nut for this dumb bitch, and finding my files I decided to get this turd set up. And... the truss rod ain’t cooperating. Can’t get any relief, she ain’t budging. I’m not swapping a truss. So this piece of garbage can hang on the wall for a while and experience my resentment and shame with every glance I give her before I move her to mass grave of guitars in the basement.

Thanks, but I’ll pass. I moving on to another project. Although... what does he want for it? I do have an old 60s reissue strat body somewhere I stole the neck off years ago that could rebuild. If I can find it.

No, your eyes aren't playing tricks on you. Nor did someone do a crappy re fret.

1st TT neck I've seen on reverb.

What is a TT neck? I'm assuming this is some rare thing?

    Not rare.
    "True Temperament fret system".
Vai has been a big fan of them for a while.

My body’s not routed for a Floyd. Wonder if I have one laying around. Thanks though.

Guitars aren’t designed properly. TTs are designed for perfect intonation.

I get the concept I guess, I've never played one, but I don't think I could get past how awful(to me) it looks... My regular necks are intonated will enough for my ears

Here's what tuning you have to use.
It's not a big deal if you have a good strobe tuner.
I can make custom tunings in my Peterson strobo tuner and save them in the machine.

I think it would be interesting to play one. I can totally relate to the A then D with the D being all out of whack.

The harmonics? Well, that's just on another level.

On this TT system, seems like the frets would have to be laid out for a specific gauge for each string to me. I know if I change gauges, I have to make changes to account for it including the intonation(typically very minor).

Ofcourse there the less dramatic "Buzz Feiton" tuning system. He mentioned TT in this vid.
Same principle except it involves modification to the nut. And alternate tuning. +/- cents per open tuning.

    Absolutely.
I have certain guitars set up with different strings so they can be intonated per that gauge.
I always leave the empty string sleeve in my guitar case.

makes sense! Be a shame to get a TT neck all set up only to discover you'd rather have a different gauge string, but I guess if you're that into it, at that point you've probably made up your mind on string gauges.
