I recently replaced my grill on my 2018 Tacoma Limited with the TRD PRO grill (and garnish cover). I used OEM parts for both but my radar sensor is giving me an error message. This seems to be sporadic. It has been a couple days since I replaced it. I seem to recall reading somewhere that it will recalibrate itself within a few days. 1) I am wondering if this is true. 2) If so, how long does it normally take to do so? 3) If not, what can I do (or need to do) to get it working fully again?

    Thank you in advance.

It won't calibrate on its own. The dealer or properly equipped shop will have to set it up.

That said most Pro grill swaps don't have this issue with error messages.

I would have it calibrated regardless, the sensor has changed positions and needs to be set properly.

Did you purchase parts though a dealer or another source. The non-OEM garnish seems to be the big problem for most people. I recall lots of fake garnishes floating around on eBay in packaging that mimicked OEM Toyota parts. If you did not source it through a reputable seller, that would be the first place I would look to trouble shoot. There are several threads here with photos comparing real vs fake garnishes. I installed all OEM before prices got crazy and have never had a single error.

If you used OEM parts, you really shouldn't be having an issue. I never had a problem. Maybe take everything off, check the mounting and connections. If you still get the error message I'd take it to a dealer that would recalibrate it for you. Unsure if they charge for this.
