Yesterday was new bike day for me! My first road bike. Nothing special, just an aluminum giant Contend AR 1, but I am super happy with it.

big step up from the 20 year old hybrid bike I have been riding that was a hand me down from my dad

Those are some of the most comfortable grips I’ve used. Run em for a bit, you’ll like ‘em.
My current favorite grip is the diety stuff. Knuckle duster is super comfy.

I've just tried these going from uber skinny grips and they are not bad:

Still slim but extra padding for longer rides or bigger hits.

Yes. Sundance Super D. But its pretty weak for an enduro race.

And one of the pros 2 seasons ago blitzed a world cup DH track on a hardtail to prove a point. People rock hardtails at the NZ enduro as well cuz theyre paychopaths.

I read about enduro race being 2-5 days long! that sounds pretty awesome! I only own a hardtail (norco fluid 4). I don't care about placing high or competing, just wannna rip the course!!!

this is amazing but admittedly, I would love to see an energizer battery bike with the energizer bunny somewhere.

So was out for a spin on the road bike a couple days ago. Pulled into a park that I havent been to in awhile and someone drove by heckling me. As I pulled around a trailhead parking lot I saw the car and that distraction was enough to send me barreling into a fence/barrier at 17mph. Went OTB and came down on my neck/head. Thought I broke my collarbone - it is still swollen but got checked out at an urgent care and didnt see any real concern. Sore as shit right now, but all things considered I made it out ok.

Need to replace derailleur and helmet, but yeah that was a dumb mistake.
