Yeah. The kit crutchfield recommends is for double din radios. This is far from a double din radio.

I was planning on just using the brackets since the face looks like a direct fit for the bezel.

I am waiting for the large Kenwoods coming out later this year but damn, you are making me rethink waiting..... That is a down right BEAUTY! I just got rid of my Halo, sick of the low res screen.

What kind of audio set up do you have?

 

Just the HU at the moment. Stock JBL the rest of the way. I don't do big stereos any more. I'm getting too old. I just couldn't stand the horrible stock navigation. Mostly got this for AA.

 

Which one did you get? I just got the DMX957XR to get me by until the large new kenwoods come out later this year. The DMX957XR will go to my wife after that. I am LOVING this unit and the options compared to the halo that i took out. That low resolution was HORRID.

 

I am going down the rabbit hole with my 2017.... I will post when i get closer to being done.

So I completely forgot I had designed a trim piece to fit the 5500 in the premium bezel. Based on my measurements of my model I think this thing is going to be a near perfect fit for the premium bezel. I've ordered another premium bezel to test.

 

Random question, any chance you have an any time camera mod? And if so, how's it working?

 

Would one of you that has the 6600 mind measuring the actual LED screen itself, not the black border?


What is the difference in the 7600 and the 6600 other than the modular vs DIN and from what i can tell Home screen customization on the 7600. Which should mean squat to those that use carplay/android auto. I might just bite the bullet and say screw kenwood, they have no ETA on their larger screen HD receivers.

 

It’s a 9” screen.

If I’m not mistaken the 7600 is a halo design also.

 

I read the specs, what I asked was the size of the LED, not the screen itself. Look at the pictures and you will see what i mean.

As for "halo design", do you mean floating screen? Yep, it tilts and moves up and down too. I just want to know why its $100 more other than one being modular and one being a DIN floating screen. If anything, i would think the modular would be more.

 

If you have an aftermarket head unit with the maestro, you don’t need a mod. The head unit can handle all of that for you. I programmed the maestro unit so if I hold the left up button, it triggers the front camera. I can then switch between front, rear and my dash cam

 

And the dash cam? That’s sweet. Will that work with all dash cams?
