Thanks, that was my goal. I've only seen a couple other bobbed second gens and I didn't think they looked great. I wanted a nice balance of having fun on the trail but still have a good looking rig.

 

Maryland lost one great master craftsman.

 

It was a sad day when I had to lose my MD plates and switch to VA. I'll be honest though, I drove around with expired MD tags for like 6 months I even got pulled over in that time and the cop didn't care.

You need a set of Dana 60’s and 42” tires! I keep looking back at this thread... your truck is looking really nice.

 

Kinda, it was hard to keep it from running. I had to constantly backtrack on a panel and re-roll to smooth out stroke lines and runs. It's not perfect but overall I'm happy with it. I think doing it all over again, I would have rolled on the textured bed liner as it's even more forgiving.

Don't give me any ideas!

 

@EatSleepTacos , I have been soooooooo waiting for you to do a thread like this. Even though I have seen snipits here and there on IG or TW, this is a model in patience, engineering, ingenuity, and brilliance. My God, i wished you lived closer so I could hire you out to perform some of your unique talents on my truck.

 

Stop, you're making me blush I appreciate the kind words. Next up is half doors made from OEM doors. Taking a short break and will start on those and follow the same process. Post pics here and there and then make a pic dumb when they're done.

 

I have always prided myself in doing something unique with my vehicles, something different that no one else has the idea or balls to do , something built -not bought. You honestly embody this mantra and I am just giving credit where credit is due.

 

Thank you, that's been my goal as well. And my underlying goal is to always do it right, within reason. That's why I tubbed my firewall rather than just bash it with a hammer. Why I added limit straps in the rear. Why I did body filler on the weld lines rather than just grind it smooth and rattle can it. Stuff like that.

 

I have always like people reactions whenever I do something like this go from, "wtf" to "how did you" to "i see what you did there" to "you are bold sir" to "I freaking love it!" Lol
