This is probably a silly question, but I had the Base 1.0.5 tune for 04B03 on my 2017 OR, then had the dealership reflash the ECU based on TSB-0058-18 which reset my calibration ID to 04B04. After the dealership reflashed my truck, this should have overridden my previous 1.0.5 tune/04B03 settings correct? At this point, if I want to reapply OVtunes, I basically just repeat my previous process but for 04B04 correct?

Correct, it was overwritten, and you'd use the 4B04 version now

You are exactly correct. Flash the OVT 04B04 tunes and you're good to go. You also now have access to any of the 04B04 Betas if you want a taste of 2.0.

I haven't been a sysadmin for a while, so I went to Microsoft to see what their support structure for Office looks like nowadays. If you buy the standalone office product, not the online Office365, it comes with 60 days of support. If you want support after that your options are, 1. "Upgrade" to the online Office 365 product (recurring fee for use), 2. pay a one time support fee, or 3. buy a software support package. Based on my fading memory, the only things that have changed in the last 25 years are the length of time for free support (seem to remember it being longer, but not much) and the option to switch to Office 365.

One way or another, they're getting paid for personalized support after 60 days.

This thread, which doesn't even go goes back to the original OVTune releases, is almost 3 years old. Mat is still supporting those original users for no charge, which is not common in the IT world.

    edit: corrected thread age statement

And don't even get going on yearly license 'maintenance' fees for other specialized software. On a few packages, we paid it and didn't even get a new version reach-around.

This is so true. I misquoted a price actually in this thread, and was corrected by Mat. Then someone saw my error post quoted me and went off about a price increase. I responded saying "no, my error it's this... like Mat said..." etc. Should have sufficed.
Good enough you say? NOPE! Next post, same f)@#$%G thing. Another person misquoting my error. I think it was all on the same page. It's the same with giving instructions to the crew at work sometimes. :frusty:

Anyway... a good FAQ page always works well, A very carefully worded set of instructions, and pictures are a huge help. A live chat feature on a website is handy, I personally like this option a lot for support calls. Sometimes you need a voice call, and sometimes you need to fire some customers that just won't help themselves.

A quick "My Wife" story. My Wife was a personal trainer for years, and she had a client who would not modify her eating habits, and would complain that she wasn't getting "fit". After a few discussions and almost a year of training this person, My Wife had to fire her client because, in the end, the client was not going to get where she wanted to be, and it would be my wife's fault in the client's mind.

Hey, it's Friday! Not that days really matter too much but happy Friday everyone!
    Peace. :rasta:

But this is in fact the original thread, going back to the initial 3rd Gen Tacoma releases. The name of the thread has changed a time or two, but comments and posts on all of the original releases are contained herein. :burp:

A lot of that is lag and because it's a forum. I've done that before but it's because I never hit refresh to see if there was new posts.

I'd be happy with clear explanations and descriptions of performance mode/gear lock mode/and now the combined towing mode. Benefits, what each does, etc.
As one example with gearlock you could go past redline (which was awesome on 93 octane 1.05 performance mode) but now that's there's a separate performance mode? :notsure:
This 2.0 on same 93 Octane just doesn't feel the same so explanations of how it is meant to run/what is going on would help what to expect.

Regarding Matt's recent post about how many Tacoma's were sold in the US and Canada... According to GoodCarBadCar.net

    2016's through March of 2020

    937,851 sold in the US
    Approx. 63,000 sold in Canada

    Total:
    1,000,851

I guess Matt would know how many owners purchased tune kits.. He's probably a very busy guy..

and only a percentage of those customers are TW members. I’d say far less than half are members here.

And, only a fraction of those are 3rd Gen'ers. And, only a fraction of those are active. And, a fraction of those are OVT'ers. Etc. :D
