I just bought this truck a couple of months ago it's a 2018 and had 10,600 miles on it. It basically sat in my garage until I could get a 2-3" lift and tires for it. While putting the lift on I noticed a bunch of oily gunk in the skid plate, on the power stearing pump and the passengers side of the block. After I got the lift on I went and sprayed everything off and there is definitely fresh oil on the passenger's side of the block again. The truck has 11,000 miles on it now 30 miles of that is on the new lift and tires. From what I've read in the forums on here I'm thinking it's the timing cover leak.

My question is this should still be covered on the 5 year powertrain warranty right? Has anyone had any problems with dealers trying to blame something like this on a small lift and if so how'd you go about it? I'm mainly asking this stuff because the closest dealership is 2 hours away and I'll probably shear if they try to blame it on anything haha.

Ps it's hard to see the oil but its pooled up under that bolt and it's coming from somewhere above.

Check the timing chain cover seal by the power steering pump bolts.

No *reputable* dealer will deny you an oil leak repair due to a lift.

Just take it to the dealership and stop worrying and trying to diagnose. It doesn’t matter where the leak is coming from, the repair will be covered. If any dealership gives you a hard time, open a case with Toyota corporate. Make sure you get a loaner.
