You remove the bed bolt, grind off some ribbing on the bolt so the washer can be removed, and put the bolt through the d ring then the washer.

FWIW i saw a topper with auto lock at the dealership. I didn't see that option on LEERs configuration page. Asked one of the installers about it, he said they can put them on whatever canopy. This is as I am picking mine up, of course. Might give the dealership a call and ask them directly.
