Finally ordered my Kings and then this happened

I finally pulled the trigger and ordered my king 2.5 set with Dakar heavy duty leafs for my 2017. It’s something I’ve been saving towards for a while and pretty damn excited. After two weeks of my order being processed and emails unanswered I reached out by phone to the shop.

They are out of stock of both the kings and leafs and aren’t letting me cancel my order without a cancelation fee. Like, this is insane right? They said they ordered a set of kings from king themselves and I have to wait another month or two and they don’t even have an estimated eta for the Dakar’s.

Like, what the hell? I’m gonna take a wild stab in the dark and say when a company misrepresents their stock and doesn’t allow you to cancel without penalty fee then it’s bs to say the least.

Should I keep pressing the shop or just try once more and file a claim with PayPal buyer protection?

This isn’t normal for a shop right?

Edit: this problem was fixed and the shop and I worked it out. He turned out to be a good dude and I’d do business with them in the future

 

So when you ordered it said "in stock" when it actually wasn't?

 

File a paypal claim or talk to your bank. Buy from a different supplier that’s reputable.

 

Pursue it. I was going to order from Headstrong and I wanted the Dakar heavy's. They told me that they were out of stock with an unknown ETA as they were being redesigned. I want the heavy's, and when I figure what I'm going to get, I will go through Headstrong Offroad because of that, and the reputation they have for support.

 

Correct. At no point during ordering, check out or following did they indicate they were sold out. They even ignored 2 follow up emails and an IG dm.

 

God I should have stuck with headstrong but I wanted the heavies too and I was getting impatient. I’ve heard about the place I ordered from and they represented they had the stock so I went with them.

 

i ordered fox 2.5 resi's and UCA's, from a vendor on TW few days ago, and learned the uca's were 2 weeks out or more, shocks one week, so i looked around and found the fox's alittle cheaper, contacted vendor, said they dont price match and that the place that had the lower price had an old price sheet,, bullcrap,, i found the uca's cheaper also, so i canceled my order, got my refund, so i contacted marie at headstrong, was told i should be ok with stock UCA's, so i got a price on the fox 2.5 resi's, TW member discount, holy crap, with the discount, i can almost buy uca's if i wanted too... headstrong is my go to place now.. heard alot about them, and its all true..



and i need new fronts asap..

 

They lied about stock and ignored emails ?, would cancel!

 

Fwiw it took two months for my foxes to show up. I think they were built to order.

 

Ya, I got screwed around like that on eBay once. I did get reimbursed eventually. Now I cover my ass and take screenshots of the information page before I order anything...

You place an order from them and they place an order from kings.

 

Yea these guys just didn’t have any. They then tried saying “well everyone is out of them right now”. When I said that’s bs and listed shops they told me they are most likely not being honest...

 

What shop is this?

 

And if that’s what their company represented initially I wouldn’t be mad. Even their faq’s said “orders ship from our warehouse within 48-72 hours”.

 

I would contact paypal and cancel the payment. They need to communicate better and you are not satisfied with their service.

 

File a claim, customer service is a big part of the overall service they provide.

I had a problem with a shop about 2 or 3 years ago. Place was called Maryland Speed.....the owner dodged my calls for months till I found his cell on the internet. I spoke to him about how he gets his product....which led to asking how can not list items for sale on a website if you don't actually have the items. I spoke to the AG in Maryland and soon enough he was shut down due the huge number of complaints....The CC company refunded me my money....If a company cant get your product in a reasonable time they should refund your money. Contact the Attorney General and look up BBB complaints about t he company

 

Any one consider delays due to the pandemic? I doubt either the vendor or the manufacturer were considered essential. Everything is backed up for months. Sure the vendor screwed up but some places haven’t even been able to open up or ship anything, especially specialty suspension companies. Just a thought. King’s is in CA not far from me, the state shut down all non-essential businesses until this week. Unless they had a contract with the government they would’ve been closed.
