Hey folks - real happy to be part of this forum and the cult it represents! Getting a taco was wild for me, went in for a 2012 w/ 3” lift from dealership - turns out the frame was rusted/holes in body that had been intentionally painted over and/or covered up. Had a long fight with those people and got an not-lifted 2020 SX v6 4WD access cab for the same price as the 2012!

I love it, need it for work, and have wanted a Tacoma for so long. However, the reason I started with a 2012 is because I really don’t like touch/big screen systems.

I’ve got some questions though about changing things around, even though money is tight so it will be a while! Maybe someone with experience can help me with a roadmap or tell me how long I’ll be broke ;)

    1. Replacing the entune system with something more analog (cd player, aux input, physical buttons, not bright at night) I feel like the usability of these things is so much less than 2nd gen systems, but have no idea how possible/costly it is to replace it and if that can be made to look good. Especially because I don’t know wiring.

    2. Assuming i can replace the entune, is there a compatible rear view mirror with compass that can also display the backup camera feed?

    3. Can you dim the interior button/dash lights beyond what’s accomplished by turning the odo knob?

thanks for reading this! It’s my first day on the farm here so hopefully this is appropriate for this thread! Thank you !
