Mr. Marv speaker adapter bolts

I just received my speaker adapters from Marv and am curious if anybody knows what size, pitch and length of bolts I'll need to install them. Or if you know what size and pitch the stock bolts are that would help, too. I won't have time to take the door apart and look so if anybody knows, I'd really apreciate it. Thanks!

 

Come on guys!!?? A crap-ton of people have speaker adapters that require longer bolts! Somebody has to know!! What if I say please?

 

Yeah, I just don't have time to take the door apart. I have limited few hours to do the install on thursday afternoon and wanted to have everything on hand. I was hoping someone would know

 

Well I'll offer this up. I made my own my adapters out of 3/4" mdf, counter sunk the screw heads 1/4"... maybe 3/8" (can't remember for certain), and used no. 12 x 1-1/4" Pan head phillips screws. They threaded into the stock holes nice and snug.

Based on Marv's adapter stock thickness and whether they have countersunk screw holes you should be able to figure out what you need. Hope this helps... Good luck!

*Note: The screws I used have a much more coarse thread than the stock screws... I don't want anyone thinking they're longer replacements.

 

Go read his how to thread here on the board. I'm 99% sure he mentions what bolt to get in there.

I know he at least gave enough info for me to run to Lowe's and get bolts, nuts, and washers to work for my adapters he made me. Sorry I can't tell you what size, but it's been almost a year since I installed mine.

 

From Mr Marv's how-to thread, if you're using the stock plastic mounts, you'll need 30mm M6 bolts for a 3/4" thick baffle, and longer for a 1" baffle (probably around 35mm). If you're not using the stock plastic mounts, then it doesn't matter as long as the screw is long enough, but that's what she said
