The marine Olds 455 makes around 280-300 hp which should get the boat up to around 42-48 mph depending on hull design (open bow vs closed bow, ie weight in the front of the boat). Where they shine is torque. Stump pullers for sure, or in this case as many skiers/tubes that you want to drag along.

This one turned out to be a pretty nice piece internally. It had the following non-stock parts in it already: useable forged stock compression pistons, hardened vavle seats, chamfered oil passage holes, Erson cam that's slightly bigger than a RV cam, a crank that's never been cut and still didn't need to be cut (just polished), the oil return holes in the head had been made much larger than stock (a problem area for the 455), and I had the stock oil pan increased from 5 quarts to 6.5 quarts in an attempt to keep the small amount of oil that it has (for a marine engine) cooler. Oddly, the bore was way too tight for a marine engine with forged pistons and all of the bores had to be opened up a bit, probably was a home build vs a shop build when it was rebuilt in the early 90's (bearings were date stamped).

Do it, it's not a problem. My truck has 37's and I tow often, weekly at a minimum. But then again I'm crazy so...

    Too many to list.
Prepping for radiator mount bushing. My guess is the one of these bushings is bad. Can you tell which?

Installed my JBA uppers yesterday along with some OME 886 coils and i think i screwed up. Every video i’ve watched and write up i've read about installing the ucas shows only a washer between the ball joint and the knuckle. I have one there but mine came with 2 so i figured it went between the nut and the knuckle but every video says otherwise. Anyone with JBA’s that can clarify?

The chrome is started to chip away from my steering wheel emblem. How did you remove and paint yours? Looks good.

I would say no, since you don't appear to have full thread engagement with the extra washer. I have the JBA arms also and only have the one washer.

I thought so, so where does the other washer go? Also the passenger side upper ball joint seems to have more of an angle than driver side, should i worry about that? 1st pic is passenger side and 2nd is driver side.709707EB-EDC3-4811-9D8E-87C10EEB74D6.jpg9FE210D1-4D60-4605-9B23-D79CAAFC7264.jpg
