I have a 2007 TRD sport, double cab, long bed that I'm investing in for the long haul.

She has 110k miles with OEM suspension and I just got some brand new wrangler duratrac tires on OEM wheels. Tires are slightly oversize just enough not to rub

I'd like to get a new suspension system, but am new and overwhelmed with the aftermarket scene and looking for some recommendations. I recently got a ARE fiberglass canopy with a Frontrunner roof rack, and I plan to build out a bed platform/storage drawer system in the bed.

I do go off road-but not "offroading". I use this truck to go camping, drive on dirt/forest roads, and am frequently going on mountain passes to hit ski resorts along the powder highway and in the PNW.

My priorities in a new suspension system:
    1) Improve my ride as much as possible
    2) strength to support extra weight in the bed with canopy and platform build- will routinely have 2 kayaks on the top (extra 110 lbs).
    3) I'd like to lift around 2 inches. No more than 3. Planning on putting on some 1 inch wheel spacers on to widen the stance for cosmetic purposes.
    4) spend less than $2500 for the whole system.

I appreciate any of your takes!

I just installed Bilstein 5100 Coilover with rear AAL. I thoroughly enjoy the smoother ride. I have an '08 Sport that was running OEM suspension. I also had to replace all the ball joints as well. Just old and bad. I only have 60,000 miles.

I know others prefer OME suspension but I think they are a bit pricier. I spent ~ $950 on the Bilstein suspension and ~ $500 on the ball joints and UCA. I also got new UCA to accommodate the lift.

It added just under 3" after it settled after a week or so. Granted I did the work myself so I saved quite a bit on labor, but if you had it installed it will cost you significantly more.

I have aftermarket tires but they are only 265/65R17. I am waiting till they need to be replaced before I get some bigger ones.

Looking to do a similar setup for my speedway blue! What springs did you go for with the 5100s?

Toytec coilovers(which utilize 5100s/toytec springs) 2” toytec block(it’s my dd) jba ucas. 285/70/17 on 17x8.5 -10 offset. The aal or a leaf pack will be better suited for you since your carrying stuff. EE8BE56E-1169-4638-8DFA-7F7BB1B192C3.jpg

Dobinsons is another option, fairly similar to OME. I dunno if they're any good, but they seem to be a popular choice for 4Runner dudes. I guess I'll find out once I get my Dobs full lift kit installed.

The ones that come with the shocks. They were pre installed.
