Thanks man! Yeah me too. It's been months in the making between research and part sourcing. So much happening this coming week. Front driveshaft arrives Monday. Tires should arrive Monday, transmission should be delivered Tuesday.

Wheels got here yesterday as did my SPC UCA's, various drop brackets (front diff, carrier bearing, prop valve and longer rear brake line). Add a leafs, and steering rack from wheelers/low-range OR are still awaiting shipment. Order from Toyota with all the bearings, hubs, cv axles etc should ship this week.

Holy fawk. How did you get a hold of those wheels? I’d watch the thread, check the website and never had F5s in matte black.

Your truck is boner fodder for me.

put the tonneau cover back on, and made some "mods" to the Hi-Lift handle keeper to help it fit under the bed rail:D. Hi-lift kind of interfered with one of the tonneau clips. looking forward to finishing up the canopy so i can put that on.

Added a pic of the SPC box and various other goodies. Got a set of the SPC cam bolts because I wasn't sure if mine were shot or not.

Yeah I was very pleased that they had the gun metal available in the right 3.5 -25 BS on the shelf. @scs_vuth was top notch and had me squared away in no time. Wheels arrived like 2 days after I ordered them :)

I spent a lot of time living vicariously through various build threads so I feel you. I've had to wait for all my kids to be grown before being able to build a truck I've wanted since they came out in '95 lol.

Also bolted a piece of angle iron to my tailgate to hopefully make it stronger.IMG_20200209_170301_3.jpg

There wont make a difference, its the area in the perimiter that caves in

It also looks like the rear could use that treatment

that might help a bit with keeping the tailgate from "smiling" but I can't imagine it'd do a whole lot of good. if you want to really beef it up get a piece of 1/8" plate and but that on the whole tailgate. if you've got a welder just cut a rectangle and weld it on to the angle iron. then take some screws and use the existing holes for the access to the latch. 1/16" is too light gauge, 1/4" would also work but it's way overkill. if you need 1/4" to support what you're putting on there... chances are it's too heavy for the truck.

Just got back from the initial break in run on my new 4.88 gears, so far everything seems good! I did notice that my MPH are now about 5 MPH SLOWER than what my gauge reads. Can't I change the gear out on the speedo sensor to correct it, or getting it closer?

The gear you need to change out is in the transmission if 2wd or transfer case if 4x4

What angle does a center hoop usually get welded at, I might have to lose the KC spot lights. BA613656-FA97-495D-A6F2-742711353A73.jpg 5548BDF6-C2EF-4890-A480-AAE67D6A632B.jpg

Worked on my frame repair this afternoon. Added top and bottom to the LH rear section and cut out a welding slot on the side to weld to good section of existing frame. Also cut out a new inner side plate to support front leaf and bed mount area(forgot to take picture).

    upload_2020-5-31_21-25-26.jpg

I've ordered from General Springs: leafs, LH/RH shackel kits, u-bolts (had to cut them off), and front leaf bolts. LH upper shock mount ordered form LaGrange. Rear spring perches are discontinued, so I will need to try to rehab or make new ones. I am going to replace the fuel tank/muffler and spare tire carrier cross members with 1"x2" tubing.

It's going to be much stronger than original.

I have decided to make a flatbed for it.
