What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Air tools are a thing of the past IMO. Just get a nice 1/2 drive, brushless motor, impact and it will take care of 90% of whats on your Taco. I can get pretty far with just a 1/4 impact. Battery powered tools have come a long way in the last 10 years with lithium batteries and brush-less motors. And you don't have to listen to compressor run all the time, plus chase air leaks.

BTW I deal with the salt and hate it too! LoL

 

One of my first and favorite mods! I only lasted a week before I was tired of ducking under my mirror at intersections. I look even if its green!

 

Having both air and battery I never touch the compressor except to fill tires and blow dust off things. My Porter cable and Milwaukee both rock.

 

I have always just used plain old wheel bearing grease and it’s always seemed to work just fine

I will NEVER get stuck on my Prerunner on those treacherous trails at the Mall parking lot between the Apple Store and the Cheesecake Factory.

Finally found a color matched topper in the area yesterday and gave her a bath today!

 

Today I ordered one of those thingys. Lets see, hmmm. Oh yea a hc rear bumper from 4x Innovations. I have their sliders and have needed them. They did what they are supposed to do so I went for the bumper. 4-6 weeks out.

 

I thought they looked familiar. I run bolt on Mobtowns on mine. For as much Tacomas there are in Hawaii, I very, very rarely see anyone with real sliders here.
I was close to Line-X-ing them, but thinking about it now, I'm glad I didn't. I painted mines this time, but will probably look into a spray can bed liner next time. Do you put anti-skid tape on top after or has spray can bed liner been good at holding up?

 

It was an exciting day. First, I spooled out my winch line. Then, well, I ran it back in.

 

Installed new Cali Raised sliders today!

 

Swapped shifter balls from a TRD ball to a Hurst ball. The Hurst is a little smaller and my other trucks have a Hurst so it felt more natural. Hurst is Up for grabs if someones looking for one PM me.

I like how the 20° sliders tuck up under the cab, looks good!

Installed my BAMF light bar bracket today. Now just need to figure out how to wire the light bar..

 

Picked up a used bed mat cheap.
Hopefully no more sliding around and banging back there.

 

This is the first time I have done them . They were installed January 2019 ,I had them powder coated and welded on by a local shop but salty NY did a job on them after one winter . I’m going to get the anti skid tape tomorrow.

 

Finished taking apart my suspension and painting my gusseted spindles, and dropped my shocks and coilovers off for rebuild.

hopefully I can put it all back together Wednesday.
