Ya know....you usually read a lot of stuff on forums bashing cops in one way or another (some of it well deserved....some of it not so much)...but I really dont know what to say about your post. "Thanks" for respecting her and her memory doesnt seem enough...

You have my complete respect for sharing this....it was an honor to read. I hope she is peacefully patrolling the streets of heaven...and I hope you are at peace knowing you probably have your very own guardian angel watching over you now.

There were 6 of us at the auction. Someone bid $75 and I went $100.
They let us do a walk thru and really there was nothing special in what I saw. A few antique wheels and alot of cowboy stuff.
Something, somehow told me that this was special.
I bought the last remaining items that this woman had on this earth. She was still alive and had moved to Beaufort SC after the shootings to be with her husband. They seperated and was in the process of moving back to greenville and had these items in storage. She passed away, her husband left her, her kids disowned her.
She was a big cowboy and western fan. Books, posters, letters.
I'm glad I got this out and off my chest. It has been something I have been trying to deal with the last few weeks.

So sorry you are going through this. Too sad.

I know what you mean about this "I would not let myself be THE person who totally wiped everything that this woman had off the face of the earth." I felt that way when I went through my mom, dad, and older sisters stuff after they died. I kept thinking what gave me the right to just throw stuff away that meant something to them.

Things are just things - it's the memory that counts. I understand your hesitation at getting rid of any of it (I can't imagine what I'd do). Just know that her memory is being served - thanks to you.

Hold your head high my friend, hold it very high.

OP thanks for sharing. What a sad story. Interesting how its starts out with a 16yo kid with obvious demons of his own ending with the 2 officers who shot him end up with their own. RIP to her and I hope everthing works out for her partner. OP thanks for doing what you did, most people probably would of just tossed everything and forgot about it. Hopefully you can figure out something to do with her things and feel right about it.

Man this is a sad Event! You may keep some thing to be close to her however the gifts should go to whom ever they were addressed to I'm sure that is what she would have wanted. Don't pust the Anderson Police Dept. too hard you may find your self on their Sh** list. That is all you would need is for them to Come back on You
