Just got these sweet rims and feel like I opened a can of worms... My goal is to install the largest tire size without having to do any trimming or cab mount chop. I am considering UCAs but that is in the future. Any help is appreciated!

I know 265/75/R17's are an option for the 5100's but not sure how that changes with the -10MM offset and 4.3" backspacing

(Also, first post on TacomaWorld! So happy to have this resource!)

    Tire Specs:
    • Size: 17x8.5
    • PCD: 6 x 139.7
    • Backspace: 4.30"
    • ET (offset): -10mm
    • Weight: 23lbs
    • CB: 107mm

THese are going to set out about 2” farther than the stock OR if my math is right. Don’t rely on me, but I’m guessing +1 is about the limit. 265/70/17.

Follow up: those are some sweet looking wheels though.

Thanks @RushT! Yea I'm probably overthinking it. First I started thinking I wanted to go with 285's but that sounds like too much modding and hassle and if the 275's still rub too that would make me feel silly for buying them and not reaching my goal of not having to trim.

I’m running these wheels too. I’ve got Bilstein 5100s, front set to 1.5 inch lift and 1 inch blocks in the rear. Tires are 265/70/17. I haven’t had to do any trimming and still have my front mud flaps. I know usually -10 offset wheels require some trimming so perhaps I have a favorable alignment setup but that’s been my experience. Hope this helps!

Looks like my math was a bit off. 1.4”. I was thinking wider tire, not taller. Somewhere on TW there’s a tire calculator, but I can never remember where it is.

Man, I was thinking the center hub cover not being there was going to bother me but those rims look sickkk! For simplicity sake I may go with the 265's. I'm running those right now but on the stock OR rims.

Thanks! I actually have the Charlie version that comes with a center cap but I actually prefer the look better with them off.

I may eventually go to 275/70/17 but that will definitely require some trimming and the weight increase is pretty substantial (about 8-10 lbs increase per tire vs my 265s)

i have 6112 set on 5/6 and i’m running scs ray10s 17x8.5 -12 offset with 275/70r17 falken wildpeak at3w and i get rubbing when in reverse and wheel turned 3/4 full lock. i read a bunch of people didn’t have rubbing issues with that tire size and lift combination. it’s not bad rubbing but rubs nonetheless. i’m going to do a CMC and a little more plastic massaging. BTW had i known that 275s would have rubbed and requires cutting i would have just gone to 285s. just my .02
