Start out with the pertinent, warranty expired. 29,500 miles just about. 2017 4x4 limited

Truck is going to need propeller greased, torqued, the whole 9 for the 30k. Also is needs to have the TSB done for the ECU.

ECU TSB-0058-18 + 0062-18 are these the two that I need to have done completed?

So should I go ahead and pay the 300$ to have the Tacoma care plus until 45k?

I was at Longo Toyota in El Monte, CA the other day for maintenance and they were offering the next 5 scheduled services for $249 prepaid (not Toyota Care Plus). I purchased it because even just a basic 10k service there is around $100. I asked the service adviser and he said they rolled it out about a month ago. Not sure if it is for all dealers or just that specific location. $300 for 4 services doesn't sound too bad, especially if it does include that major service at 30k.

Read the fine print on what is covered and what is not. They tried to sell us the extended plan on the Rav4, after looking at it, it was cheaper to just pay for the service at each time. The 6 month in between services are just tire rotations and look at the fluids, the Rav4 or my truck does not even go in for those, I can rotate tires for free myself, and I am capable of looking at the fluids and adjusting as needed, and I can certainly check the drivers floor mat.

I’m going to ask them about that, generally speaking. Since most people probably crest the 30k or have the 30k maintenance done. Do you think they would still complete the 30k maint with that toyo care plus?

Yes make sure to get it spelled out in writing exactly what it comes with. Most of it is just "rotate", "inspect". The things that will actually cost some money are the oil, filters, etc. Add those up separately and see if it is worth to get the prepaid plan.

I would assume so since the original Toyota Care only goes up to 25k... it would make sense that the Toyota Care Plus would pick up at the 30k. But just double check to make sure

It says all maint. excluding special/severe operating conditions. I dont see it listed on the website, but the pamphlet they gave us clearly stated air filters were not covered, so it basically meant oil changes and tire rotations. Looks like roadside assistance is also included, that may be a good thing for some people. They must have re-wrote the plan, it seems better now.

Oh yea, the guy did mention that with their new prepaid plan roadside assistance was include with unlimited miles, which is better than AAA in case you don't have it.

This new plan doesn't seem too bad. I still have 1 year of the initial Toyotacare on my truck, but I may look at this a little more.

Thinking about it, but if they don’t lube the shafts, etc. It really wouldn’t save me time. My Honda has had zero issues at dealerships, Toyota they are all morons. Lol

I got lucky and I am in a motorcycle group with a tech at my local toyota service center. He takes care of my vehicles when they are in for service.

    Hi everyone,
I have a 4x4 2017 Limited Tacoma it’s been awesome. I know it’s time to give her some love.
I have only done...tire rotation, oil, & air filter maintenance. Nothing more has ever been done.
I want to keep her riding for years to come.
Could anyone on the forum recommend what other maintenance should I do in a priority order??
Money is always tight but i know it will be worth it!
I don’t have the skills and I will need to pay a mechanic.

    how many miles?
My 17 limited just had to have its radiator replaced not due to damage. So I’m assuming faulty something, check your coolant. Luckily I was still under 36k.

If you're doing it at the dealer in Clarksville, be careful. They love to check the boxes on the service paperwork and not touch any of it. Its a really bad service department.

Also, the ECU update is covered by the federal emissions warranty and should be free for you.
