The G17 lives in my night stand. But I figure the big boy will help deter anyone more than a pistol will.

In the event something does occur though, would it be better to give the girl the AR or the glock? I feel like giving her the AR would be better. She’s shot them both but doesn’t have a lot of experience. Pistols take a lot more time in my experience to shoot accurately versus a rifle. Thoughts?

I feel like I read or heard at some point that it’s easier to pickup a rifle and shoot that than it is a pistol. I’m by no means claiming to be a great shooter of either platform, but I can guarantee I’ll hit someone breaking in with the glock where I think the girl would struggle more with aiming that than the rifle. I dunno. I guess I just need to spend more range time with her

It was an isolated incident. Came home through a bad part of town, nothing going on tonight.
Anything can be tough to shoot accurately when you are in that situation, if you don’t have the training.
I prefer pistol or shotgun for in the house. Rifles for outside protection. Let her use whatever she can operate the best.

She Needs to be out practicing with both in case you go down. She needs to be proficient with all firearms you own.
