the MC can be an issue on these and 4runners. they arent overly common but when its starts messing up, seems to cause problems. when the accumulator and motor were going out, id be driving then all of a sudden id hear a thud and the brake light would come on along with the buzzer and id have almost no brake pedal.

Damnnnnn that sucks. Luckily my brakes have been fine so far. Still have the original calipers on, but did the pads/rotors last year and its been good so far. I have heard of other 470 owners having similar issues with their MC/motor and the calipers sticking, so hopefully I can avoid that until I eventually sell mine.

That would be terrifying coming off a highway or something.

good thing is i don't have to drive highway to work. and its basically happened where the speed limit was around 30. just takes a lot of effort to stop since i basically didn't have power brakes.

calipers on the 470 and 4th gen 4runner are notorious for sticking. dunno why but they just suck.

Have been using my GX for camping and adventures with the doggos for the last few months. The dirt, hair and dust was starting to take its toll. Spent a few hours today giving it a deep clean, inside and out...

I need to clean mine. Same as you @Gen1FTMFW , been traveling all over with the GX these last few months and haven't given it a proper clean. Been having some overheating issues lately too... temp gauge will erratically shoot up close to red, then back down to normal a few times before it finally settles at normal temps. Replacing the thermostat first tonight. Hoping that fixes it.

Quoted myself for reference. Was hearing noises from up front and thought it was bushings. Really dug into it today and it was just a metal support bracket from the original bumper that was rubbing on if the metal tech bumper wings. Bent it away, boom, sound is gone...

How much lift and what size tires you running? Looking at doing some much needed work with the upcoming Christmas bonus. Was looking at 2"-3" of lift, but am still not sure. I'm pretty mild with my shit and anything more than 2" seems a bit much for what I do...

It’s around 2.5 inches and I’m running 255/80/17 seems to work really well for everything I put it through.

Damn, that looks really big for 2.5"...

I've been looking for a 2" but it seems like most offer a 1" or a 3". I may have to get creative with how I get it done. Thanks.

Put the winter shoes on today...

    20201107_134500.jpg

Got the green light from the wife to use a chunk of the Xmas bonus for the GX. Still in the planning stages, but trying to decide if suspension or rear bumper w/swingout should be the priority.
