Well it had to happen at some point ----cracked my taillight loading something into the bed---- 2yrs without damage, record for me. Replaced the light on friday.....let me know if anybody wants a drivers side TDR PRO taillight? Does not leak, but I replaced it anyway. Don't want to toss the old one in the harbor.

Maybe repost it as “free” in the classifieds? It’s not tea, so don’t toss it in the harbor.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
If you are trying to keep the truck nice and clean, that sucks then. I tried to with my first trucks but to no avail. Fifty trips per year in the bush and stuff happens.

This is my 4th 4x4 now (2016 TRD OR) and I have given up trying to keep the truck in perfect shape. Yes, do the cleaning and waxing and maintenance, but I got my second large dent on my last offroad trip. A 3 inch wide dent middle of passenger door, and pushed in 1/4 inch deep with 2 deep scratches when a log on side of road flipped up and hit side of the door. Another deep 3 inch long scratch above that one. They are permanent, not fixing them.

First damage was in the bush, rammed the front bumper against a stump trying to do a turnaround on a narrow trail with no pullovers. That cracked the underside of the front bumper, about 6 inch wide crack. I just did a quick bondo job on that and painted it over with some closely matched paint. Sticks out like a sore thumb, but oh well.

My trucks are in the bush constantly on remote trips. I am glad I am at the stage where I don't worry about exterior damage. Just war wounds.

By the way, I like that paint color on your truck. Not sure I have seen that up here before, would be nice to see a full picture of the truck.

Here is the sad part --------I live in Boston - very little real off-roading around here, but the alley behind the building I live in is like the arctic circle / a glacier in the winter, so I used that as an excuse have 4wheel drive.

Hey you gotta enjoy your life. The Tacomas are pretty nice trucks, if it makes life more enjoyable it's a good thing. For sure good to have in the winters.

By the way, Boston! My favorite hockey team of all time, the 1968 - 1976 Bruins!

Orr, Smith, Cheevers, Esposito, Cashman, Hodge, Stanfield, McKenzie, The Chief Bucyk, Sanderson! The list goes on off great players. Orr the greatest to ever play the game, and I have been a devoted hockey fan all my life. Here in BC, a Canucks fan of course, but those Bruins were amazing. I was 13 when Boston won the cup against St. Louis. I had Bobby Orr and Derek Sanderson posters all over my bedroom as a kid. I've read all of the books about Orr, and Esposito's book was great. To this day I'm still watching old Bruins footage on Youtube.

As a young kid, I got to see Gordie Howe play, and of course Gretzky and Lemieux, but Orr was the best "all around" player the league has ever seen.

Oh crap, this is a Tacoma forum. Looks like I've turned it into something else now. Go Bruins Go! :)

no way! I am a huge B's fan, growing up in the city during the era you describe. I played in the inner city league called boston neighborhood hockey league......we skated at the public rinks in each part of the city, brighton, roxbury dorchester , southie, charlestown etc............here is something that's hard to imagine......we skated before 6am.........430 to 6, 3 x a week / sat was game day, that happened at 9. One morning during a 430 skate, we see two guys walk in and lace them up, they jump over the boards, drop a duffel bag of pucks and skate over to us-------it's bobby orr and derek sanderson.............What! ..... the kids lose their minds, we are skating around like ants try to take the puck away from them-------!
Can you imagine that....... the manager comes over at 6 am like clock work to kick us off the ice.....ha
They signed pucks, shirts, napkins, helmets, you get the picture. Amazing!!!! No media, agents or posse......

My dad worked in the building next to the garden, he waited in line to try to get tickets for the stanley cup in 70..........he ends up with 2 tickets for game 7 --------we were rooting for the B's to lose in a way that there would be a game 7 ha and it happened!........ being 14 and watching him score the game winner against the blues - priceless. BTW the seats were obstructed view in the middle of nowhere......but the cops that worked the garden were neighbors, so we sat in the aisle on the blue line in the "rich guy section" --- hahhaha, nobody cared

Fast fwd 20 years. I end up as a senior exec in a fortune 50 company in the city---we are running a fund raiser, and both bobby and derek, brad park are the celebrities at the pro-am...... I am the host and when I was doing the intros I went thru their accomplishments and there statics as a warm up, they each took the mic and did some inside stories about hockey and the game back in the day..........very well done.
On the way out the door - Bobby pulls me aside and asks if there is anything else he can do, I thanked him and said I would walk him and the guys out, as we were walked to the car I brought up that story about him and derek hopping over the boards at 430 am on a cold winter morning--------he smiled and said," I loved doing that, and the only reason derek was there was because I dragged him out of a bar or something---- hey remember that grumpy guy that kicked us off the ice at 6am???" What the hell- how could remember such a detail?????
I told him he was an amazing inspiration to the kids in the city...........his reply, was "I am really shy guy and never wanted attention"--- "It was really fun for me to hop on the ice and skate with you guys", I asked the globe to not report any of these types of things and Tim Taylor /pres of globe who founded the boston neighborhood hockey league, kept it quite"

good to meet you and thanks for bringing up the bruins ---- sorry if I stepped on any taco toes?

Great story! Yeah, Boston had a huge minor hockey scene once Orr showed up and the team gelled and turned into one of the best teams of all time.

Must have been amazing to meet Orr and Sanderson. As a kid my 2 heroes. As a kid I used to dream about meeting them. I've probably seen every single video of Orr on Youtube, and there are hundreds. Not to mention have read every book written by him, or about him. I still bore all my friends with stories about Orr, as some of them too young to have had a chance to see him play. A shame that there are no game tapes, most erased back in the day by the TV networks to reuse for other broadcasts. I would pay big time if I could get an entire Bruins playoff series on digital file, tape, whatever.

Now, time to get going. Another day out in the mountains tomorrow fishing. Alone, remote, will see no other trucks or fishermen. As it needs to be. :)
