If you were addressing me then I will respond by stating, I understand. It's still bullshit. The guns are registered to me, not my house. They have my CDL number, my social, DOB, finger prints, etc....
Just more bullshit laws to restrict Constitutional rights.

So, lets try to clear this up for me, then. The graphic clearly states it is $19 PER transaction. You're saying it's only $19 the first time. That's a big difference. But it's only $19 if I change my address in their database, or buy another firearm, in which case my new address is now in the database anyway, then it's another $1 every time. Have I got that right?

    It's still bullshit.

$1, for ammo. Backgrounds is instant. But you end up with three piece of paper just like as if you were buying a gun. Essentially CA now have a record of the exact amount of ammo and type you have purchased in a lifetime.

if you purchase a firearm, and buy ammo during the same transaction, it is $1.

if you were to just buy ammo for the first time, it is $$. Subsequent purchases are $1.

Does anyone have a lever action rifle they like? I've been toying around with picking one up for general plinking.

I've wanted a “cowboy” gun for as long as I can remember, and a few years ago I saw this thing:

And it got me thinking about something similar, but maybe with a pistol caliber and sans suppressor. I believe that's a Marlin 30-30.

I think the Henry X comes in handgun calibers.

Henry is the way to go IMO. Quality is top-notch and they aren't too badly priced compared to competitors. I actually have a Henry lever-action .22LR that came in to my FFL today. Need to go sign for it this afternoon. Next up will probably be a Henry all-weather .357 mag/.38 special. .38 isn't very expensive and fun to plink with, but can also use .357 for hunting or defense.

    Of course.
    I have a pre-63 Winchester Model 94. Love it.
Also, have a BLR. Browning Lever Rifle, Lightning, in 30.06, which is my primary hunting rifle.
For general plinking Browning, and Henry, make great, but pricey, .22 rimfire lever rifles.

If I can ever find one I am seriously thinking of getting one of these Marlins. 30/30 or .44 magnum.

Got everything for my lower, finally. Except my lower.

LGS is disappointing. Got an email today that it’s in, so just need to make time to go and DROS it.

BCM pistol grip feels amazing, fits my large hands perfectly. Also very impressed with the Magpul pistol grip @jberry813 sent my way.

Is anyone else still waiting for AR approval? It has been like a 18 months. A couple of months after submittal I got a notice they needed some additional barrel/caliber verification and that was submitted. The online system says "pending". I called a few months ago and finally got a live air head to talk to. All she could say was it was pending and "looked like" nothing else was needed. AND absolutely no estimate on when and she could not make a note in my records that I called to offer assistance if anything else was needed.

I then asked if I could actually take it to the range while pending? Response, sorry I can't give legal advice and it would be a shame if it was confiscated. OK, was that code for something?

    So, anyone else still waiting?

I sent them an email a month ago asking about 80% lower registration process and they emailed back and I ignored it. They’ve since called 6 times and keep leaving me voicemails. I miss the call, otherwise I’d say not interested and went a different route.

If they’re backlogged they certainly have plenty of time to burn on pointless phone calls.

I went and picked up the Henry .22 lever action yesterday (that my dad sent out from Iowa) from the FFL here in Santa Rosa.... $100 between fees and taxes. Crazy it’s that much to pick up a gun.

In most places it can be as low as $25-30

Since CA gunshops have you by the balls and with internet retailers destroying small businesses, the shops typically increase their transfer fees to deter people from buying online stuff just to have it shipped to a local shop.

I had friends at a local shop who would transfer me stuff for $35 instead of their usual $100 fee. Too bad the owners sold the place and fled CA, my hookup/discount went with them lol

Edit: not to point the blame at local shops, with the amount of online orders that they have to hold onto and process it can be a pita, so they gotta make money too.

I won a Henry Golden Boy .22 at a California Water Fowl dinner about 10 years ago, now I own 22, 22mag, 17hmr, 357, 44, 30-30, 410, and 45-70. Amazing rifles right out of the box, and a absolute blast to shoot.
